This album was released as the first of two `best of' albums. It really instilled the band as one of the best rock bands of the modern era. Personally, at first I saw it as a slight rip off that you had to buy two separate albums. A double album would have been much better value.

It has a similar style to `Appetite For Destruction' although a couple of songs are a bit calmer and less rough. Once again Axl Rose cannot sing for toffee but this is complemented by brilliant guitar work by Slash.
