Extremely pathetic bank with typical shitty staff

This was the first time I went to open an account on 21st July 2020 at Sector 19c Koparkhairane Union bank of India branch. I reached over there around 12:30 and I was still there till 3:35 pm. So here is my experience.


The security guard told me to fill up an online form which I did but their site is extremely slow. So I had to take help from their staff. I don't know that guy's name but he was seated with a special needs person (who was one of the staff members) I kept moving from one desk to another as I was not able to complete the online form. The first front staff member said to try a different browser. Then I went to the account opening staff member he said there is no internet go out and fill-up the form. The browser automatically used to get refreshed and then I had to again fill-up the form. It took more than one hour just to make corrections in that online form. Again the security guard saw me moving from one desk to another. He fetched another staff member called Mr. Amrut. I thankfully felt at least somebody is helpful. He did complete my form but by the time it was a lunch break. These staff members kept saying that getting an email takes a half hour. Mr. Amrut sent an email with an attachment to their email id with the wrong spelling. Then I waited till their lunch break got over. When finally the security guard let me in, staff were eating bananas. OMG, such a pathetic unprofessional sight to watch! Then I approached the new account opening staff he said I just had my Lunch break wait for some time and he also said that I have got your mail without any attachments. Whereas I sent the same mail 4 times. Another thing is that the differently-abled staff member also said that till spelling yet Nasnar Koparkhairane chi when all these staff members didn't even know that I am a freelance journalist with an English magazine. How stupid and small-brained people can be? The first time Mr. Amrut highly professional banking staff sent the mail with a wrong email address and then when I saw the email address was wrong I had to send it again.


Then I don't know what was wrong with a staff member (I don't want to be rude but I don't know his name but he had some problem with his one hand) who kept asking me stupidest questions as you can always open the account in Thane, trains and buses are running; your application will get rejected if the letter doesn't reach to your house as my permanent address doesn't have a room number. The differently-abled person and the account opening guy kept saying such things that the address is incomplete when I showed them all my original documents. I also asked him if he needs any other document.


Just for an opening account, it took 3 hours by these extremely unprofessional staff members. He gave me a debit card when I asked when this will get activated. He said tomorrow.


When I went to the union bank of India atm, the pin was still not getting generated. So today, 22nd July 2020, I visited the bank and I was so irritated with their damn slow service and I raised my voice. Mind you, I didn't use any profanities or slang words but this one guy was with a tattoo on an arm and the hairband (oh that's how banking professionals represent themselves) threatened me saying that you are a woman otherwise I would have thrown you out of the bank. It was okay if I had used any slangs but just because I showed their damn inefficiency they were showing me the door.


By seeing their service I finally quit my account on the second day itself. I removed all my money. Customers can only get irritated if you keep the customer waiting for 3 hours for simply opening a new bank account. The manager also came out of the cabin and I asked me to shut my mouth. Instead, he should have called me in the cabin and should have tried to understand the customer's frustration. That's what would have changed my mindset if the manager would have shown some courtesy.
