If you are looking for a typical South Indian fare in Koramangala, I would strongly recommend you to check out this restaurant which is nondescriptly located nearby the famous JNC but if you do not look for it, you are sure to miss this.
This restaurant is located in the same gulli lane as the JNC main entrance but a little further up towards Madiwala road.
Most of the south Indian snacks are really good out here, especially the dosa, idly, rava idly, vada and neer dosa. They also server chat items & juice which I never felt like trying but I have been told they are pretty good as well.
On most Saturdays, they have a special South Indian thali which is a typical plantain leaf served full meals which is too good to miss out. It starts with a juice, followed by 4 sides(kosambri, beans pallya etc) and the lovely Pineapple gojju!
Rice Kadubu(sort of an idly but lot more softer) is served first and then the mini masala dosas and they keep serving till you ask them to stop. Obbattu or Puran-poli is always present which is again a not-to-miss item.
Lastly it’s rice served with rasam first and then the sambar/kootu!
For light eaters, they have a limited thali on their menu which is sans Kadubu, dosa & obbattu and instead has poori.
The Thali is priced at Rs 150 which the limited one at Rs75, slightly on a higher note but what comes cheap in Koramangala these days!
I have had the above full meals thali on a numerous occasion and every time I have never been disappointed with the overall taste and IMHO it’s much better than Maiyya’s or Sukh Sagar!
Apart from this, what I like more is the attitude of the waiters out here who serve with a smile on their face and at times, overfeed you J!
