I've had a few incidences with Uber so far which has forced me to not like there service inspite of cheaper fares.
First of all their GPS system is problematic. I ordered a cab and one if their drivers accepted my request. He was following the GPS to come to my location and he didn't even cared to call me. Well the GPS took him to some other location roughly 3 km from my location. He then called me saying that I should have called him because of which he went to wrong place and tried explaining me how it was my fault that since he was following GPS it was my fault not to call him and confirm his location.
Even after I sent my mom in that cab as I ordered it for her. In between the trip, be got into a quarrel with an auto driver and started fighting him and using abusive words. Though I did raised complaint about him but I later found out that since I rated that driver 1 star, my rating ( yes uber rates you too) was also reduced even though I was the victim.
This was the customer support I got from them.
Another what happened was that I had a free ride ( through referral for upto ?100) . I took the ride and my total came to be ?101 so I sad suppose to pay ?1. I gave the driver the change. He hit the complete ride button but some how it didn't cancelled at that the. He hit the button again and now the amount payable came out to be ?12. It was shocking for me as well as the driver that in just a few seconds ( trust me I'm not joking when I'm saying in just a few seconds) the fare got increased by ?11. I complaint the same to uber support to which a very vague answer was given. They said that fare is calculated as per the GPS readings and it was not in their hands to control the fare. This shows how faulty their system is and there is a high chance that people might get overcharged.
I would suggest if you face such stuff happening to you, raise your voice and let them know that you won't let them take you, the CONSUMERS, for granted.
