Uber drivers cheating customers
Recently over the span of a month . I had the displeasure of travelling from the kempegouda International Airport Bangalore to my residence in a UBER taxi. On both occasions I was asked to pay the Airport expressway toll charges of Rs 125. This despite me questioning the authenticity of the said payment. The final receipt on both occasions mentioned that the toll charges were included in the billed amount. Since the final receipt comes after a few minutes of termination of the ride, I was not in a position to confront the drivers.
The UBER drivers are thus victimising their passengers. The matter was bought to the notice of UBER. They clarified that the billed amounts include the toll charges and that the passenger is not required to pay toll charges. However they were not in a position to refund the amount as it was outside and Unknown to the system.
I am not sure if action was initiated against the errant drivers, who bring not only disrepute to UBER but to the country as a whole. When they cheat foreign passengers. Hope UBER is listening and will ensure corrective action. Maybe a message to this effect can be sent to a customer at the time of booking, which the customer could show to the driver as proof.
