Yesterday morning, going from East Rd in Austin Town to the corner of Richmond Rd/Hosur Rd, I took Uber. Big mistake.
Driver was courteous, and as the Uber auto fare was UNDER rs 40, somewhere between rs 32-35 ( which is the usual fare for this trip on Sunday mornings) , I paid rs 40 and let the driver keep the change.
Couple hour later, I try to arrange pick up on Hosur Rd to return home, and discover they are not letting me book, telling me I owe rs 46!
I couldn't understand WHY I was being falsely accused of having outstanding balance, nor WHY the fare quoted was 10 rupees more than the fare I already paid!
After raising the devil on chat ( can't find any CS #) , one customer blaming puta madre tells me it's my fault because I "chose to pay by card but paid cash instead! "He also tells me I still owe rs 6, but that he's been so kind to waive the 40 I paid!
I start scrutinizing the app and discover putas have automatically taken my Central Bank debit card from Uber Eats and linked it to Uber Cabs without my knowledge or consent, and they have taken the liberty to set it as my default payment option as well, ALSO without my knowledge or consent!
2ndly, they hiked my fare by rs 10 AFTER it was paid in full by cash, and accuse me of not paying an outstanding balance!
NOBODY at CS is useful, especially the latest female Einstein, Priyanka S. See attached screenshots.
I boycotted Uber for 3 years, then mistakenly gave them a chance at redemption a few months ago. So far I've been lucky with auto drivers, in terms of manners/behavior, but their cabbies have been surly at best. I made the mistake of thinking CS would improve once that rabid beast, Travis Kalanick was out of the company, but no such luck. He strongly encouraged all manner of barbaric attitudes and goondagiri among Uber staff, and that has not changed. They will never hire civilized managers, which means HR, CS and every other department will be run in a jungle raj fashion from here to eternity, with all manner of fraud, theft, victim blaming and other dacoit behaviors.
I don't know why I'm being asked to rate "tour operator"as I'm not a tourist and this is not a tourist guide company, so giving a bad rating there for spite.
