First things first, if it wasn't for love songs or Romantic songs, a majority of good songs would not exist in Indian cinema, in general. Pyar, Mohabbat, Ishq, Prem be it any way of expressing love, the message is LOUD and clear, we just love love songs. Here is my list.

1.Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas from BlackMail

Kishore rendered this song with utmost perfect to a great composition by Kalyanji-Anandji. The song has a simple yet arresting tune, you just want to have somebody in life so you can sing it to her(her because the song is intended for a woman).

2.Pehla Nasha from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander

Absolutely perfect song for Coming of Age kind of situation. I just like everybody experienced it and only this song comes to mind when someone reciprocates your feeling and you just want to jump, especially the line'Kaho yaaro kya karoon kya nahin', because we want to let our friends know about it. This in my humble opinion is amongst the top 5 songs that Udit Narayan has sung in his career.

3.Hamen Tumse Pyar Kitna from Kudrat

Classic song composed by eternal Pancham da, what else I need to write  about this? this song had  great lyrics and  is sung equally good as well.

4.Panna Ki Tamanna from Heera Panna

Another Pancham da Gem, this song has'Rabindra Sangeet' flavor sung excellently by Kishore and Lata . If you listen real carefully you'll find similarity to the song'Pyar Hua Chupke Se' from 1942 A Love Story.

5. Dil Ki Awaz Bhi Sun from Humsaya

Immortal combination of Mohd. Rafi with O.P.Nayyar. This song is the one of the best when it comes to'Convince' a girl.

6. Deewana Hua Baadal from Kashmir Ki Kali

Ditto as the previous one. One added advantage with this song is Asha Bhonsle. O.P.Nayyar decided never to work with Lata after a scuffle and ever since Nayyar saab only worked with Asha, what a blessing in disguise for us.

7. Tere Mere Sapne from Guide

A very strong reason why I liked this movie, long time ago. One of Sachin Da's greatest compositions. One paragraph of this song is played in the end with a Prelude of Saxophone, so surreal.

8. Yeh Lamhe Yeh Pal from Lamhe

This song is beautifully rendered by Hariharan, this is not so popular song from this movie but this  song will invoke so much of nostalgia for people specially the moments when you met your soul-mate.

9. Kabhi Kabhi from Kabhi Kabhi

This  song is written by poetic genius Sahir Ludhiyanvi who was a favorite of Yash Chopra's. This is one the last great songs sung by Mukesh beautifully picturised on Amitabh and Rakhee.

10.Roz Roz Aankhon Tale from Jeeva

Pancham Da, Gulzar, Amit Kumar andAsha Bhonsle, all the ingredients of a classic. This song will haunt you, be careful.

11. Ankhon Ki Gustakhiyan from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

In this movie, one of  my favorite part was Music and with this movie Ismail Darbar arrived big time. This is such a well picturized song that captivates Aishwarya's beauty like no other song. Kumar Sanu should be proud of this song.

12. Aate Jaate from Maine Pyar Kiya

This was a song well sung by S.P.Balasubramaniam and Lata, many would argue that it was straight lift from Stevie Wonder's'I Just called to say' but I am not listing the authenticity of the song, for anyone who doesn't know it, it's just a sweet song about confession of love.

13.Maine Tumse Kuchh Nahin from Katha

Great songs from the unlikeliest place, this was supposed to be'Art' movie with Naseer, Farooq and Dipti Naval, instead it turned out to be breesy entertainer with great songs. This particular song is sad but explains how much the person loves someone that he cannot attain. Painful yet wonderful.

14. Kehna Hai from Padosan

Pancham da was working with a good friend in Mehmood and made sure that he did his part to make this movie successfully. What a range from music  from the laugh riot'Ek Chatur Naar' To the romantic'Kehna hai', again a great song for a person professing his love for someone.

15.Kahin Karti Hogi from Phir Kab Milogi

This song was inspired from'Lonely Bull' but it was indianiz(s)ed in a great way. This song was hope and mystery about a man for his woman. Mukesh and Lata did an outstanding job composed by Pancham da.

16. Na Jaane Kyon from Chhoti Si Baat

Haunting song by Salil Chaudhry sung well by Lata. This song makes you miss you partner when he/she is not around.

17.Yeh Nayan Dare Dare from Kohra

Hemant kumar's voice is so smooth that it would give Silk as run for it's money. This is classic song from a movie about ghost and haunting, another unlikely place for romance.

18. Teri Aakhon Ke Siwa from Chirag

If you want to praise someone's eyes in a song, it doesn't get any better than this song. Mohd Rafi at his best.

19. Jo Baat Tujhme Hai from Taj Mahal

'Taj Mahal', is there anything more romantic than it? The emperor himself(Shah Jahan) praising about his love is, at it's best.

20.Abhi Na Jao from Hum Dono

A great song composed by the Legendary Jaidev sung meticulously by Rafi and Asha. You'll have to listen to this one if you are in love.

Later folks.
