I had always driven a Bike( Discover 135 CC) and wanted to buy something which I and my wife both could drive. My basic constraints were
A scooter which would be Unisex( something preferably above 100 cc and 7 BHP)
Decent mileage
Good performance.
Smart looks
I finally did quite some research on the net and visited all the dealers of Honda, Suzuki, TVS to compare( Activa, Access and Wego). I took a test drive for all the bikes and also did a comparative analysis on them. Some bikes had a greater wait time too and Wego was a rather refreshing change to the already existing 100+cc scooter market.
I finally took a WEGO( Pristine white color) and found
Positive Points( Comfort)
Telescopic suspensions giving me a comfortable ride even on bad roads. Nitrogen filled rear suspension giving the pillion rider more comfort.
More ergonomic seat comfortable on long ride and the hectic city traffic
Aligned centre of Gravity giving more control on the bike
Fuel filling cap outside and not below the seat
Larger 12' inch alloy wheels giving more grip on the road
Positive Points( Ergonomics and Style)
Golden Eye indicators giving it a more happening look
Sleek and stylish design which is more unisex
A more easy and low effort stand( which even ladies can park the vehicle on full stand:-))
Full Metal body with LED rear brake light
Useful Glove compartment and below sear area where the helmet( medium size and not heavy and large helmets) can be comfortably fitted
I have driven this bike for almost 350 kms and below are my findings
Smooth ride and comfortable even on the bad roads and even with a laptop bag on my back
Top speed of till 80 kmph.
Good pickup and power even while uphill drive on a slope even with a 90kg pillion rider:-)
Decent mileage between 37-42( tested thrice using the method given in the manual). Which I asked the service centre guys and they said will improve after 1st servicing
I got a ready delivery from the Tristar TVS showroom on Bangalore, Koramangala-Indiranagar ring road
I got a good exchange offer for my bike too
Only negative point is that the bike needs to be given a choke everyday morning while starting. I asked the Service centre guys and they informed that the carburetor setting has been done accordingly and they will tune it with the 1st servicing.
I would say an absolute value for Money( @50, 800 Rs). And with TVS' experience in the scooter market it is certainly going to give the other competitors a very tough competition. After I took it three more of my friends have taken it.
