One of the necessities of a person in the urban age is a means for commuting. As we head towards globalization, we also move on expanding and growing our cities. Well, as educated, sensible and responsible individuals, we do not regard the ownership of a bike or a car as a status symbol any more (I guess). It is more like a necessity and something that should serve the purpose. For a few others it is a little more than a necessity. It becomes a luxury then.

Any which way, a few aspects that anyone would look for will be a diligent engine from a renowned company with a decent performance to its credit, that is considerably economical and a model stylized to an extent acceptable.

If you are considering a bike purchase and just in case you are lost in thought with so many many wheels hitting the streets, this will make you clear on one of the pair of wheels you’ve caught on the streets.

TVS SCOOTY

A little something about the bike:

This is a 59.9cc two stroke, petrol engine with a single cylinder, forced air-cooled and an intake system by means of a reed valve induction. The air to gas compression ratio is 7:1 and its max power is 3.5 BHP@5500rpm

The fuel tank capacity is 3.5 liters, which includes 1 liter of reserve and it gives a mileage of 40-42 Kms per liter. The fuel being unleaded petrol with 25ml of 2 stroke FC grade 2T oil for lubrication.

TVS scooty is equipped with the’ SMILE’ technology, SMILE standing for-Smart Machines Incorporating Low Emission. This is in order to meet the year 2000 emission norms.

It has a flywheel (12V/50W) with electronic ignition. When the vehicle is cooled for a long duration, it may have to be given a kick-start, holding the choke. On all other occasions, the electronic ignition works fine.

There is a locker storage beneath the seat that provides ample storage space upto 10 kilos. There is a helmet bag hook affixed to it.

The new ScootyES is now here with puncture resistant tyres. It is out with 5 brand new metallic colours. The include dazzling silver, Sagittarian blue, forest green, scorpion black and dashing red.

From the owner…

This is a light, comfy, easy to maneuver, gearless two-wheeler that is ideal for college going girls or even working class ladies. It is surely not a guy thing. It sort of, does not fit into a “guy’s first love” picture as portrayed in the commercial. Mileage and pull wise it is fit for a within city limit usage. You can conveniently squeeze in through rush hour traffic or even enjoy the wind in your hair on a bridge (Sankey road in blore!) or a scenic flyover. It is easy to park, wash and maintain as well. It will serve you well as long as you treat with tender love and care.

Must carry:

The tool kit and first aid kit that come with the bike, a helmet. (And of course all the documents of the bike!)

Price: Considering the on road price, accessories, RTO charges, registration fee, NSE and stuff you will be able to ride home a scooty at anything between 28K and 30K.
