....................SHREYA SHOSAL,KUNAL GUNJAWALA,SANJEEVNI,are some of the biggest talents that came out of the show SAREGAMAPA,one of the best and longest running tv shows,i have seen.I am a music addict and so anything fairly connected to MUSIC,gives me pleasure and SAREGAMAPA has always been one of my favourite show,from the time SONU NIGAM hosted I what I loved about this programn was the genuine talent which came in it some of the contestant are so gifted,that you are amazed at their talent and vocal range.Also this programn was one of its kind and gave platform and hope to young aspirants to come and sing before the distinguised judges and make a name for themselves.The HOST of the show have also been great too ,FROM SONU NIGAM to the current HOST SHAAN has been simply great.
SAREGAMAPA CHALLENGE 2005started somewhere early this year but I couldn't follow it from the beginning and I joined in quite late but since then I have been hooked to it.This time around the show was not only about the contest between the participants but their mentors two the were four music directors taken from the music industry all big name,ISMAIL DARBAR,JATIN-LALIT,HIMESH RESHAMIYA and AADESH SRIVASTAV,and they were given names like ''JAIHO GHARANA'',''LETS ROCK-ROCK THE WORLD''and each gharana worked as a team and under each one of them the contestants perform and based on their performance,the other gharana mentors gave them points and the special judges gave them green and yellow cards and finally it came down to junta's SMS,phone calls and whoever was given the lowest votes was eliminated.The final winner will win the challenge 2005 title and will also get the chance to release their album.Now the show has come down to final seven and the show is going great guns because of the,
CONTESTANTS..........are the best thing about this show.Their are some great talents on this show,who have perfect knowledge about music,sur-taal,they have great prouniciation and diction of hindi,have the confidence to perform so well before the audience and ofcourse have great voices,without which they would not be standing on the stage to sing and perform.In this show there have been some very good participants like SHARIB,AISHWARYA,DEBOJIT,TWINKLE,SWANANDA,UJJAINI
but my favourite contestants have been,
1.HEMACHANDRA(AADESH SRIVASTAV GHARANA),What a voice this man has................its beautiful,and his classical notes are just unbeleivable,he has been learning carnatic music from the age of six and that shows in his singing.I loved his SAATHIYA SAATHIYA,CHOD DO AANCHAL,CHORI CHORI JAB NAZRE MILI performance ,my best male singer of the contest.
2.HIMANI(AADESH SRIVASTAV GHARANA)................again a super talented contestant,she sings with so much feelings and expressions and her voice quality is so good that you will be just amazed at her talent,she is just 17 and such a fabulous voice wonder what she'll do later on.Her best performances,NI MAIN YAAR MANA NI,TERE BIN NAHI JEENA,JIYA DHADAK DHADAK JAYE
3.NIHIRA JOSHI(ISMAIL DARBAR GHARANA)..............one of the best talents to have come out in recent times.Her voice,talent,diction,range of modern and classical and expressions on words is great,a talent to watch out for.
4.VINIT SINGH(HIMESH.R GHARANA) again a talent to watch out for,just 17 years of age and already he has sung such tough songs on the show,his voice is very similar to SONU and he is also very versatilemy fav performance of his has been TERA JADOO CHAL GAYA AND FIZA.
HOST..................SHAAN is the perfect HOST.He has got a very likeable personality,always smiling and very freindly and encouraging to the participants,which instantly puts them at ease on stage.He also compliments them for their performances a very interactive host,with the judges,guests and the contestant.GREAT GOING SHAAN...............
MENTORS..................JATIN LALIT have already made an exit,because all the contestant of their gharana have been eliminated.Out of the three gharana,i like AADESH SRIVASTAVA ,the best he doesn't go over-board with the praise,and he has really trained HIMANI AND HEMACHANDRA very well,they have emerged iinto even better singers.ISMAIL DARBAR is quite blunt and forthright with his comments and HIMESH RESHAMIYA is like annoying me with his obsession for VINEET,he just doesn't comment on other people's performance
GUESTS....................there have been some very good judges on the show,but my favourite episode was wnen SANJAY LEELA BHANSALI came as a special judge,he had requested for a LAXMIKANT PYARELAL round and all the contestant sang their songs.I really liked that episode coz everyone sang extremely well and SLB's comments on their performances was great,his knowledge of music reflected in what he said.Apart from him,DIYA-KUNAL,POOJA BHATT and SALMAN KHAN episode was also good.
The seven contestant left now are UJJAINI,PARESH,DEBOJIT,HIMANI,HEMACHANDRA,NIHIRA and VINIT not sure who 'll be eliminated this week,but I am rooting for HEMACHANDRA and HIMANI or NIHIRA among GIRLS,i want one of them to win it.They are deserving of the title considering their talent.So i'ld say SAREGAMAPA CHALLENGE 2005 has been very entertaining and great contest,talent wise till now and I think when it comes to musical talent hunt shows,no show comes near to it its the best and I would recommend it to all,who genuinly love music.
