Having visited Turkey in August this year I have to say what a good time I had. The people were very friendly and everything was so cheap compared to other tourist destinations. I feel that there is something for everyone in Turkey. It has great beaches for all you sunlovers (Altinkum and Gumbet are some of the best), fantastic restaurants for the food lovers and most importantly in my opinion, great history. Ephesus (An ancient city) is fantastic, but very hot so take plenty of water. Pammukkale (awe inspiring mineral cliffs) have to be seen to be believed. Although I didnt get the chance to go to Dalyan (cliff temples) I have been reliably informed that it is fantastic. Some general tips.. HAGGLE FOR EVERYTHING and if buying a carpet or anything else expensive only use reputable dealers! Happy travelling!
