I never booked a Treebo hotel before but had to book one out of urgency yesterday. Having seen the rooms online I had called up the Treebo team and booked a room at Kochi Nedumbassery Treebo Dreams Arcade which was 1 km away from the International Airport expecting the rooms to be good.
It was advertised as a single room with attached bathroom and the few pics that were there seemed decent enough for my stay before having to reach the airport.
The customer service agent was very nice while I spoke to them regarding the booking of the hotel and I was satisfied, until I actually reached the place. The hotel was in the middle of a deserted place and wasn't even a real hotel. Just an old apartment building that was converted into rooms.
Each apartment has 2 bedrooms and the room we book is actually in one of the bedrooms. When I entered there were a bunch of shady people who stayed in the other bedroom who were smoking in the living room. There were other rooms where people were doing drugs. And the place was a hub for prostitution.
Seeing all this I immediately wanted to leave and tried to contact the Treebo customer care, but what do you know, they don't have a customer support team to address bookings and complains but only for new bookings do they have people who actually speak to you on the phone.
I spent an hour chatting with a bot on WhatsApp to complain about my issue but did not receive any call back. I was stuck at a shady place at the middle of the night in an unsafe environment in a room that was totally not what was advertised just because Treebo either failed to do a background check on this so called hotel or does not care about the standards that have to be applied for customers. Either ways very disappointed and would not recommend to anybody.
I wanted to cancel the booking and move to another hotel but that wasn't also possible because of their disgusting non-existent customer service.
