Expensive and dishonest agency. Review on Trade Wings Ltd.

Trade Wings Limited, Manipal is situated at the Manipal University campus in the premises of Valley View International. They provide travel services such as flight, rail and tour bookings. They are the approved booking partners of the University. All bookings which have to be reimbursed need to be done through them.

The staff at Trade Wings Limited, Manipal are courteous and helpful. They do not always book according to the customer's requirement. Instead of booking the most direct and economical route, they try to fleece us by booking multiple connected flights or routes. This is because they receive a fixed commission for each booking(Rs. 500 for domestic flights, Rs. 1000 for international flights, Rs. 100 to Rs 250 for rail booking depending on sleeper, 3AC or 2AC).

I once asked them to book a direct flight from Bangalore to Manchester via Swiss Air as it was the cheapest. They were however insistent that no such flight existed and that I had to first go to London and then catch a connecting flight to Manchester via British Airways. I had to go home and print out the itinerary from the Swiss Air site to catch them in the act. After much heated arguments, they caved and admitted that the flight was indeed available but they were not able to book it since it was closed to agents and open for public booking.

I would suggest to try and book your flights directly with the airline or through other travel portals like Cleartrip, MakeMyTrip, etc. which are more reliable and responsible.
