MY requirement:
I. Coverage
Needed coverage for ground +2 storey Row house of approx 1000 Sq Feet area per floor.
Devices that needs connection are as follows 3 computers, 3 smartphone, 1 tablet. Have Tikona Connection of 2 MBs plan.
II.Previous Setup
the Nano device is connected on the terrace thru which ethernet cable goes in computer, that has to always ON.
III. Reason for Change
Rukus C shape router is available but the connection is highly unreliable as it always gets DC due to weak signal.
Tikona has limited connectivity to concurrent 3 devices thru MAC.
found "TP-LINK TL-WDR3600 N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router" thru reviews that it has good coverage and durability.
My Review
setup was easy
5ghz signal is awesome on the floor where the router is place.. though there are few devices that uses 5GHz which has limited coverage..but speed is very Good.
USB HDD can be installed with USB on the router.. and you will get your personal NAS storage.
Mac Cloning feature helped me erase the issue that was due to the limited number of connections to Tikonal which used the MAC of devices to be registered and allowed only 3 devices with one connection.
Setup
PREP activity
before doing anything connect the tikona page from the computer.
i. remove all the registered mac from tikona 1.254.....
Now-
Use the Ethernet cable from nano or tikona C router and connect to the tp link's WAN port (blue color).
Use a patch cord to connect from lan1 of tplink to computer' LANs
You will get be connected to local network.
Login to router using 192.168.0.1 with default user\pass
Select quick setup
Select dynamic network
Use Mac clone feature
Select dual mode (there must be wifi radio button in the back of the tp link, turn it on) region should be INDIA
9 Provide the WPA key pass for 5ghz and 2.4 GHz
- Done
By default you can have 199 connections to router as the dhcp is enabled will give ip for that range.. additionally you can reserve the ip if needed. There are 2 SSID available .. but more wifi devices does not supports 5ghz which is 5G .. 2.4 is mostly available .. I could connect my NEXUS 5 to 5GHz wifi connection.
If you get any disturbances or connection drops change the default channel there will beĀ 10 channels available.
Hope this helps anyone who has these requirements!
