Greatest of the great. Review on Top Test Innings in Indian Cricket

Cricket..what can I say about the game?? the most popular game in india..in other words cricket is a religion in india in i'am one of the most sincere devotee..cricket is called as a gentle man's game is going through a bad patch.but cricket remains as the most popular sport in india and will continue to be..the indian cricket is not a team to be reckoned but it has produced some brilliant individuals with immense talent..so some of the memorable knocks by indian batsman are(the score are not accurate.do inform me if anything has gone wrong).

(1)VVS LAXMAN(281):-he has been in and out of the team frequently..but in talent wise he stands next only to sachin tendulkar..so it was only a matter of time before he produced a very special innings.and this time the opponent was australia..at the moment laxman walked to the crease the australians were cruising to an innings victory over the indians..and then laxman played a dream innings of 281 and the australians were just left dazed.

(2)RAHUL DRAVID(180):-he has played so meny gem of an innings but the one which stands out is the epic knock against the aussies when he and laxman took the australian attack to the sword when india was facing an follow on..he just blasted the living daylights out of the aussies.

(3)VVS LAXMAN(167):-anothet brilliant innings by this genius against the same opponent australians..but this time he played the innings only to delay the inevitable-the defeat..the only thing that stood out in the favour of the indians was the positive approach of laxman..

(4)SACHIN TENDULKAR(184+):-sachin's name cannot be omitted in this list becoz he has played so many gem of an innings..such a genius.well this was against the proteas in durban when india was placed in a precarious position and it was sachin who came to the rescue.he scored a brilliant 180 and it took a superb catch by adam bacher to dismiss this genius..

(5)SAURAV GANGULY(98*):-this is one of his better knocks during his stint as captain.he was going through a bad patch and indians were facing a stiff target of 256 against the srilankans (indians find it difficult even to chase a target of 120).the indians were already one down in the three match series when ganguly played this great innings to equalise the series..

(6)SACHIN TENDULKAR(100):-playing against the arch rival pakistan in chennai and chasing a target of 240 IS not easy and the indians were enormous under enormous pressure to win the match..and not surprisingly the indians succumbed to the pressure untill sachin came to the crease and took control of the situation and played a superb innings..india eventually lost match by a close margin of 15 runs but it was a great game of cricket.

(7)SAURAV GANGULY(120):-making a come back after four years in lords saurav had to make a impression to cement his place in the test side..and he did it in style with a elegent century against the english..it was a treat to watch the left hander driving the ball through the off side..

(8)SACHIN TENDULKAR(160):-facing the likes of shaun pollock ,ntini and kallis is not easy on south african pitches..that is exactly what sachin did with such ease that the south africans struggled to bowl even a single maiden..he played some real innovative cricket..

(9)SACHIN TENDULKAR(170):-sachin relishes the australian bowling and this is what he did 1997 australian tour of india..it was this series and the one day series that followed that sachin massacred the bowling of shane warne..sachin demonstrated his skill in playing the leggie and the australians were just dumb founded..sachin was declared the winner in the much hyped battle between sachin and warne.

(10)MOHD AZARUDDIN(110):-well this man played a breath taking innings in his happy hunting grounds(eden grounds)..playing against the proteas and left with the tail he played a splendid knock with kumble to give support and posted a respectable total..in a sensational display of aggressive batting he slammed five consecutive boundaries of a single over..

so here are my choices..i have not watched sunil gavaskar or kapil dev in action and so i'am do not have much knowledge about their batting..do send in your comments.
