Here in the U.S., the same product is called Smack Ramen Noodles. It is manufactured by the Union Foods company, out of Irvine California, U.S.A.
Here we purchase it in a small cellophane package weighing in at only 3 ounces. You tear open the package, add the noodles to 2 cups of boiling water and cook for about 3 minutes. When done, you add in a flavor pouch of seasoning. It comes in pork, chicken, oriental, shrimp, and beef flavorings.
Each package is suppossed to contain 2 servings, but, I actually eat an entire package myself as a meal!
It is very high in sodium (670 mg per serving!), so what I do is add only 1/2 of the flavor package and then add my own extra flavorings to it. I usually add some left over steamed veggies(which I always seem to have in my fridge) or a few pieces of left over meat or fish and spice it up with some garlic.
It makes for a pretty good quick and VERY inexpensive meal. Each package of Smack Ramen Noodles costs only 13 cents (U.S.)in the store where I get it. Some other stores around here charge up to 25 cents for each package (still pretty cheap!)
The calorie content isn't too bad, only 190 calories per serving and no cholesterol.
Here's my favorite way to serve:
Make 1 package of noodles, add leftover slivered pork, leftover steamed pea pods and small cubes of tofu, season with crushed fresh garlic and a few drops of pepper sauce. YUM! It makes a great meal.
It may not be gourmet, but it is good. And even the worst cooks can't ruin it!
