The Warehouse!!!!!?????. Review on Tiruchirapally, India (TRZ) Airport

I am from Tamil Nadu, but I lived in Saudi Arabia. Much of my travel from Saudi to India was to TN, And especially trichy since it cuts back travel time to my home city (Karaikkudi).

I have always found trichy airport ''a wonder in its existence''. By major standards, the airport is nothing short of a warehouse in appearance. I remember disembarking at Trichy and watching the airport service men (who look more like coolies) open the luggage door manually and let all the bags F A L L into a trolley below!!!!!! Now you know what happened to my mother's crystal ware! And oh! if you plan on asking A N Y form of compensation - forget it, you might as well go home and enjoy the rest of your vacation.

When the plane parks in front of the bulding, the steps for the plane are pushed manually by - yet again - the airport ground men!!!! This always succeeds in making me laugh, I mean HELLLLOOOOOO! this is a plane here, delicate stuff, you can't just thrust a staircase to the door manually. I remember Sri Lankan having some problems with their planes as it was ''dented'' by one of the staircases.

Then when the air hostess opens the door, a surly officer barges in and places a welcome mat at the aircraft's entrance, you gotta admit - now that's hilarious

Once you go in, you can almost feel the jealosy emanating from the airport officers. Jealous about what? I really do not know. I for once consider these folks lucky for being able to be with their relatives, while we have to be the suckers who miss everyone.

And last year the customs officials were particularly rude to my mom and that was because she happened to be wearing the abaya. I mean - what the hell?????? Although my mom handled it very well, IT left a very dented image on the airport staff. Their ''new'' sophisticated bag screener is so lame that it read my brother's cookie box as a DVD Player, And I am not kidding as I do not believe in adding lies to spice up what I am saying. They also 'decoded' a pack of dates as a walkman!!!! phew!

When u finally get out of the airport and hug your relatives, you feel - Ahhh FINALLY made it.

Departure is not much fancier, and it bothers me when they ask me DUMB questions like ''what are you going to do there?'' - I am like ''HELLOW??!!! I was born there, I study there and I live there''. And then u can see the guy frowning for all his face is worth and thrust the passport at me. I alwayz manage a ''thank you'' with a smile :P:P:P:P

Oh and one more detail - you are sent into the boarding area even before the plane arrives. And when it does , its again hilarious to see the guys scrambling along with the stair cases ! Geez! What ever happened to Safety
