This is my first review so do excuse any mistakes that I make. Since I was a kid I remember being
teased by my friends and classmates about my weight, my dull skin and my lack lustre hair. If this
wasn't enough I even started experiencing joint pains in my 1st year of college. It was then that
I decided that I had to switch to a better diet and a better lifestyle. and this is what I do:
1)Early morning as soon as I wake up I gulp down 2 glasses of hot water, 1 of which has 1/2 a lemon squeezed in it. Remember, I said hot, nor warm neither boiling. This will help u cleanse ur system which would be loaded with toxins due to ur body's self cleansing during night.
2)Next brush ur teeth and scrape ur tongue to remove any bad odour & toxins.
3)Head off for a walk/exercise towards ur nearest park and also practice pranayam for 20-30 mins.
I practice anuloma-viloma(alternate nostril breathing) and kapal-bhati(avoid if u r pregnant, have a bp problem or hav a heart problem). This will take u 1 hr but will keep u energized for the next 23 hrs to come. Note:Check with ur doctor before practicing any of the pranayam techniques. For any information on the parnayama refer to the following link:
https://allayurveda.com/cyoga_types_bbreathing.htm
4)After this rest for a few mins & then take a bath, preferably with warm water. I cleanse my face with a cleanser(Garnier cleansing milk with mango & vit e) and bath with a soap(Margo) and after that I apply moisturizer all over my face & body(Lakme peach milk moisturizer). Aplly sunscreen if u r going out(Garnier sunscreen lotion) I also shampoo & condition (ultra doux) my hair on a daily basis to keep it dirt and sweat free.
5)For my breakfast I have something healthy and oil-free like poha/upma/egg white omlettes/
sandwich etc. Along with this I daily have a cup of uncooked sprouts with lemon juice sprinkled
over it. I only eat moong sprouts coz they are the easiest to digest. Sprouts contain enzymes to
help digestion and also sprouting increases the nutritional benefits, it also provides u a good
amount of protein.
6)In between breakfast & lunch I have a bowl of fruit like papaya/pineapple/orange/apple.
Avoid banana and grapes if u are looking to loose weight.
7)For lunch I have rotis/rice/dal/subzi with salad and I end it with a cup of fresh curd. Curd
has freindly bacteria which again help with digestion.
8)In evening I have tea, I prefer green tea(Himalaya green tea) which provides u anti-oxidants.
9)For dinner I have fruit chaat which should have atleast 2 fruits. U can also hav something
light to eat along with it.
10)Before going to sleep cleanse ur face again and moisturise.
11)During ur entire day have 10-12 glasses of water, preferably warm to hot. Use good quality
cooking oil instead of ghee. The one that I use is Saffola Gold. Use the following as less as
possible:Butter, ghee, sugar, sweets, fried food, junk food, aerated drinks, coffee. U can take a
multi-vitamin and calcium supplement if u want.
U should also have 4-5 walnuts coz they contain omega-3 fats which are really healthy and we
don't get them from our normal vegetarian diet(they are present in fish). The other 2 good
fats i.e. omega-6 and monosaturated fat are obtained by us through our daily diet from our
cooking oil and grains. We should avoid the 4th fat i.e. saturated fat present in ghee, butter etc.
12)Once a week follow this 1 hr before u bathe:
hot oil head massage(coconut oil) to keep ur hair in good condition, then after cleansing ur face
& body exfoliate ur body with normal salt/sugar. Then apply a face pack made with multani mitti
(draws out impurities, oil, toxins) and mashed seasonal fruits and vegetables(cucumber, tomato,
orange, papaya, apple, lemon, grapes etc. u can put slices of 1 or more fruits in this pack) for
20-25 mins. After this shampoo ur hair and condition it. Rinse the face pack & apply moisturizer
to ur face & body.
Hope my experience helps u to have good health, a beautiful face & body, and a beautiful soul.
