I got my first set of tinkles , probably was dying for it that time,
read it till my eyes went shut,
was the summer of '89,
me and some kids around our block,
saved all that we could,
just to get our hands on ,
and pay for the new tinkle and by god it was good.
Thats about the gist of the whole story behind me and my tinkle comics.
UNCLE sam.. oops Uncle PAI... his fab contribution to INDIA : THank you
Yeah. Just to list two of my fav from the book :
Shikhari Shambhu : The Man : He actually is the typical man. His wife was cute though. The man of many words and who could lie and think so fats that actually his brains worked faster than the computer ( hey 'm drifting towards another comic book here )
Suppandi : Oh dear God ! Please make none like that. Highly contradicting his looks. Its believed that any individual witha big forehead is very smart and suppandi's character goes against all that is said and does so , well, so convincingly.
then there were many, kalia, mooshik, tantri and those bravery award stories of children who have made some difference by helping those in distress. Very cool.
The illustrations are still awesome and the colours, the editing, the characters are so full of life.
A great book and its getting better with the advent of graphic designing softwares like corel draw and illustrator , the quality of work and hopefully more number of books like these.
All in all a fun filled book that could keep the kids at their seats.
Be well
