I had purchased a policy Id. 1220109 on 27/03/2015 from Sterling Holidays Lucknow Branch from their Volkswagen Counter Gwalior under certain Understanding signed between myself and Prakash Goswami of Sterling Holidays. Due to certain financial constraints I found in the first week of April itself that it is not feasible for me to honour the same.
I contacted SH to cancel the same as per the clause 12 which assures 75% refund of admission fee/Down Payment(as per clause 1 and 12 of understating) on cancellation within 11-60 days of cancellation. The request too filed before the issue of policy document and forget the start of policy which was due to commence somewhere Sept. 2016.
It is surprising to note that the company took a full week to respond to my request dated 15/04/2015 reference No. 01246124 where Abhijeet Umale stated that no refund is possible as per clause 12.
This is open violation and fraud on part of the company and is extremely untrustworthy to note that the employees of the company themselves are ignorant of the terms and conditions they signed or perhaps they do never read them.
I even wrote to Thomas Cook but that I think it is company's policy to hibernate when someone complains and this is the lesson they share with Sterling.
Anyway one should note that the company is found in name of a adventurer whose life is full of such ventures of cheating others and that it is not possible to escape the ideology.
