Vijay right from the start of his career has been happy to follow the footsteps of Superstar RajiniKanth whom he adores and also proclaims to be his ardent fan.

This movie is again rehash of various Rajini Movies though this movie also has it own shares of thrills and entertainment.

If you still wanted to know what the story is it is like this, In the Village of Thirupachi ? a village famous for its sickle -Sivagiri (Vijay ) and Karpagam(Mallika) are siblings and eye of the apple of their parents Vinoth ( father of Celebrity star Vikram) and Rajalakshmi ( Shankarbarnam fame) and Sivagiri?s sidekick is his friend Kannapan ( Benjamin) and the Brother ? sister duo are inseparable and are doting to each other. Searches are being made for a suitor to Karpagam and after various searches , Sivagiri Zeros on Sai ( Saibaba) -a nice soul who earns his living by running a canteen in a college in Chennai and resides at Saligram.

Post her marriage , Kannapan and Sivagiri accompany the couple to Chennai and are pained to note the happenings at their residential area, though Giri finds his love there ? Subba ( yeah you are rite it is Trisha) and Pained by the happenings , Sivagiri and his friend return to their village , only to return back to Chennai as Kannapan?s Visa for a job at Dubai is approved , meanwhile his Brother-in-law and his Sister are roughed by rowdy elements.

And after dramatic turn of events Kannapan meets his death at the hands of mafia which inturn transforms the soft spoken Sivagiri into one-man machine and how he eradicates the anti-social elements with the aid of his once reluctant Inspector Friend -Veluchamy (Yugendran) is the story.

Now on to credits Section,

Vijay is one of the saving factors of the movie; he carries his role with ease and as usual dances and fights well. Watch out for his comedy scenes initially with Mallika on the hairy episode and also for the one where he escapes the gang of religious fanatics. His costume and mannerisms in the opening song is similar to typical Rajni movie ( Annamalai to be specific)

Trisha ? It?s a pity that such a talented actress is reduced to the routine of appearing only in songs. She looks completely lost out in this movie. Better luck next time

Mallika portrays the character of a doting sister perfect so is Saibaba as a meek husband.

It is Benjamin who impresses in his short role as Kannapan. Don't miss the scene of his and Vijay's escapade with religious fanatics .

Yugendran as Inspector Veluchamy is o.k

So are Aryan ,Pasupati and Kota Sreenivasa Rao as baddies.

Manoj K Jayan is wasted in his role and Livingston and Vaiyapuri are there in the movie for just few scenes and so is Vijayan as the Police Chief.

Music is the major setback of the movie ? Dhina hardly impresses while the tunes of Devisri Prasad and Manisharma?s are rehash of their tunes in Telugu Movies ? Gudumba Shankar and Shankar Dada M.B.B.S.

Songs are placed in inappropriate portions in this movie which proves to be a tempo breaker of the movie.

Cinematography by Saravanan and Art by Prabhakar is of first rate.

Stunts are o.k though it is a major rip of from Jackie chan, Jet li movies and also Matrix.

Perarusu as Dialogue ? writer has tried to elevate Vijay to Rajini level but fails.

As a Lyricist again he fails to impress though Enna Davam song is good.

Screenplay is bit sloppy one though a slick Second half tries to make for it.

As a Director Perarusu in Thirupachi has begun well (which the say is half well done) but has lost in between only for the gripping second half to save him a bit.

Only the energetic Vijay saves the movie.

In a word this Thirupachi sickle (venture) is Blunt ,despite a Great effort from Vijay
