Silver oak is a bar cum restaurant located on Sarat Bose Road, a prime location in South Kolkata. There are so many restaurants and bars located in this part of South Kolkata. So, if you do not want to go to Park street, this location itself is a fine alternative with in shorter distance for the South Kolkatan.
I visited this place couple of times on several occasions. This place is nice and cool with good ambiance and a perfect zone to hang out with your friends and have some fun together!
I find this one better if I want to avoid rush and crowd in park street pubs like Trincus or Olypubs during festival time. This place is more or less 40 minutes distance from my place by bike, so it is quite nearby.
On food section, I like the Tomkha Chicken Soup here. I have not tasted this soup in any other restaurant and this one is simply awesome and a nice option as a starter item. I also like their Haka Noodles. They make it quite good. I have tasted their Thai preparations in main course. Chicken in thai red curry is a mouth watering dish. They are the best Lamb ish makers in the city to my knowledge as I always look out to order Roasted Lamb in Blanka Sauce. The leg of the lamb is just perfectly cooked and so soft and tasty. It is a great option to have it as snacks too!
These above mentioned dishes are my personal favorites. I also had egg fried ricefor couple of times. It is really simple and good in taste with sufficient quantity. American Chopsuey is another preferred dish for me.
On the drinks front, apart from serving all the popular brands, they are quite experimental in making lots of variations of Mock-tails. I am a fan of mocktail drinks. I usually order different options at different times. I like the taste!
Waiters here are very friendly and co-operative. If you are new to Kolkata and want to explore city night having cool chill out zone, just dive in to Silver Oak on Sarat Bose Road, very close to Southern Avenue. You will like every bit of it. If you have personal vehicle, then there is no problem, else you may have to face struggle to find out public bus transport at night, need hiring a cab.
