Sean Connery who started out as an Extra in 1955 had come a long way since then. It was his roles as an veteran Chicago cop, Jimmy Malone, in The Untouchables, which earned him a Oscar. He is definitely a genuine movie start with a professionalism. He is one of the old actors who continues even today to gives us the best with all his no-nonsense characters.
Now coming to the movie review. The Rock is a yet another traditional action movie with a thin storyline but beats Mission Impossible at it. The movie takes you on roller-coaster ride with an excellent car chase, missile strike and plenty of action with a high energtic level.
The movie is about a terrorist-turned-patriot taking 81 hostages on a prison in Altraz Island and threats to bombard with Nerve gas-filled bombs on San Francisco, if they heed to his demands. Now the White House has no one to rely on but expect two, one being a FBI guy and another a prisoner, actually he is a ex-British Spy got prisoned because of steal some secrets.
Sean Connery being the only one to escape from the Prison in Altraz Island teams up with Nicolas Cage, the FBI nerve gas expert and Navy Seals to rescue the hostages and save San Franciso from an excellent actor-turned villian Ed Harris.
The movie represents a loud, fast-paced action style entertainer where you can expect all those chase, shoot-outs, explosions and death-defying stunts. This movie is quite a fun-suspense filled thriller with exciting climax.
