I have stayed in Hotel Peninsula Grand thrice now. Corporate bookings are invariably on the 5th floor just below the banquet floors. Last year I had a couple of experiences where furniture was moved on the 6th floor at odd times of the night like 2 am. Even after I complained, no action was taken and the noise continued.
This year I stayed there from 20 - 25 Jul and on the second day, there was a party on the 6th floor. The music was so loud that the crockery in my room was rattling. It was only after I threatened to complain to the police that the volume was reduced, but the music was still audible. This was at 12.30 am.
The same night some one started moving furniture, dragging it around at about 4 am. I complained to the reception but nothing happened, the noise continued. When I complained vehemently, the noise finally stopped at about 4.30 am. My night was ruined.
The next day I complained and I was told that the GM would meet me to understand the problem, but he avoided me for the next two days. Instead they tried to buy me out by offering to shift me to a suite on a lower floor.
On the last night the noise was back and again NO ACTION.
