Just another romance movie. Review on The Ottoman Lieutenant

This movie has not been appropriatly promoted, so finding this movie in a watchable print and full length is problematic. The movie is set in 1914's time in Turkey. It focuses only on romance rather than having a focused balance with the world war 1, which could have added a great nostalgic feeling to it. But we are all left without any good action or good connection to the war, which keeps us wanting for more till the end.The plot is quite simple and naive in my view as I don't specifically like romantic movies. The story is about a beautiful nurse , Lillie, who out of love for mankind and with open eyes volunteers to bring along medical supplies to Turkey. And this when she meets her military guide Ismail.

She also meets a handsome american doctor named Woodruff and Jude, another doc there and instantly we have a triangle, Ismail and Jude.The actress for the character Lillie is dedicated and charming. Ben kingsley is brilliant as always. Jude and Ismail , as I felt were a bit tedious. As they seemed to be on skies all the time. Guys! do your jobs guys faithfully.The cinematography, although was awesome but romance, tears, slow motion feelings is not for me, seriously. The story is good but the writers should understand that the movie making style is changing and they should accordingly change.

For me, the main reason it didnt work was that the place and time was loosely referenced and it was not focused on. I love war movies, but it was not at all a war movie but a romance movie.Guys who are particularly interested in romantic movie would have a explosion, all night long. Also I would suggest these guys to either watch this movie alone in night or with your love.
