Well from the numbers of reviews here its pretty clear MSers give the Matrix the thumbs up...so are you ready for something really cool?
Enter the ANIMATRIX.
When I heard of it and saw the clip I can definitely say its going to be ultra cool!
It is basically a collection of 9 animations made by 7 different directors in different animation styles (from Manga to Final Fantasy) each telling a story from the world of the Matrix. Expect darkness, speed, ultra violence and big guns!
Its stuff like this that makes me smile because its for the fans; an acknowledgement by the directors that they have a hardcore fan base who simply love this specialist style product. However because the fans approve it it gains cult status that ends up getting mass market acceptance and still makes money for the studio who retain their credibility. A stark contrast to George Lucas who seems to be only in it for the money with a blatant disregard for what the fans want (see my review on Attack of the Clones).
