Hello, I am Robert Sosa, A student, I joined The Knowledge Academy at the end of June and beginning of August. The worst mistake I have ever made. Here is my story.
I was already talking to one of the reps there, his name is Mike Johnson. I was skeptical because of his name but I gave him a shot. To prove it was real he gave me his WhatsApp app number and we spoke for a couple of days. I had let him know I was in a car accident on June 8th that had my face and body very numb. I could still use my arms and be on the computer. I've been dying to learn the Python language. It was difficult for me to start at the moment with all the numbness. But before, I told him I needed to see the neurologist before I joined. He told me if I joined today and had surgery and I couldn't continue I would get my money back guaranteed. Because of my situation. So I joined.
He even gave me a massive discount and gave me a complementary course. All because of my situation. I only paid 300 amazing. Thanks, Mike.
Before I saw the doctor I joined and started my Python journey. Immediately the software was giving me issues. Taking the course, I was coping exactly what the instructor of the video was demonstrating, and nothing, the notebook for coding was not executing the codes. It wouldn't even change colors to differentiate the code from the text. Everything was in white no color. If you know, when coding the functions change colors. So I tried reaching out to support. I had examples, and screenshots, even conversations with Mike Johnson about the problem. Even he was like yes I see it's not working.
I emailed and opened a bunch of support tickets. No one reached out to help me with the situation. So I ended up calling Mike Johnson again. He was so helpful but he couldn't do much cuz he was on the onboarding team. He did say he would escalate the situation again to his team. But still, no one helped me. So the days went by in August not even a month into my course. I did my own research and discovered the notebook was incompatible with the newest version of Python.
Imagine that, a newbie who does not know about this had to figure it out on his own. ( Go me.) So I fixed the problem myself. I even sent out a ticket to have the live instructor class. Still, no one reached out. So I sent a ticket out for cancelation and for my refund. Then came my doctor's appointment with the neurologist. August 24th the day the neurologist was reviewing my MRI. My MRI was very bad. The doctor did not let me leave his office because of the massive injury I had to my spinal cord. He explained that my vertebrae c2, c3 & c4 shifted and were pinching my spinal cord making my face and body numb. That I had to undergo serious emergency neck surgery.
On August 27th. I had a cervical disk replacement surgery. They had replaced two disks with an artificial disk. Once I had the surgery, my arm went completely numb. But my face and all the numbness was gone. Even though I couldn't use my arm. The doctors thought it was the effects of the anesthesia, and that it would wear off. I was sent home to recover, with appointments and medication. Again, while at home in recovery checking my emails and logging on to the Knowledge Academy portal, no one contacted me, September 3rd I lost feeling in my leg. Something was definitely wrong.
I called the doctors they instructed me to head to the emergency room. I had another CT Scan and MRI done. The results showed I still had my spinal cord being compressed. I was sent home but had to register for a second surgery. I immediately informed the Knowledge Academy. I also informed Mike Johnson. He himself said he was going to get me my refund. (Nothing happened with that). No one responded for days.
On September 15th, again I sent out an email. This time explaining what was going on that I could not continue the course and that I needed another surgery. `September 22nd was the day of my surgery. Of course, prior to this day, I was in and out of the hospital for tests and scans. What time did I have to do the course? Could anyone explain this? On September 22nd, I had my surgery. This time it was a cervical diskectomy they took out vertebrae c4 and replaced it with a cage. They fused c3 to c5. I got the feeling of my hand back and I am able to use my hand and fingers.
(Finally, on September 25th The Knowledge Academy emailed me. Look at what they emailed. I hope you are doing well. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to look into your concern. I appreciate your patience.)
They do not care about me nor do they care about the situation. I still to this day October 10th can not feel my left shoulder up to my bicep and my right thigh is still numb. I am having complications, I keep choking. I am in the hospital awaiting a third surgery. I would like my money back. Susmita Nath The Director emailed me refusing my refund. Saying I should attend the live class while I am in the hospital.
