I can't believe if there is one individual who wouldn't be left in awe of the acting prowess of a gem of an actress that Meryl Streep is. Each and every movie of hers is a jewel in the world of global cinema.

She may have grown old but there is no looking back for this actress. After Julie and Julia, Streep once again churns out a landmark movie: THE IRON LADY. Margaret Thatcher has always been a political figure which one can't miss. She might have been criticized for her policies but the impression that she left in the minds of the people worldwide, is a thing of envy for most of the politicos.

In this particular movie, we get to see the other side of the IRON LADY. Her family ties and what happens to a public figure which once ruled the Britain with an iron fist are few of the highlights of the remarkable movie that the director  Phyllida Lloyd tried to bring to big screen.

Critics might have panned the movie for its lack of event telling, but the movie scores big on human interest point of view. The aged Thatcher trying to cope with her husband's demise and her children moving away. Suffering from hallucination, the lady wanders in her house, trying to win back her lost husband and children with her past laurels.

Meryl Streep shines in the role, she is anyway to be a lady who can acquire any accent with the snap of a finger. And did she excel the accent and the ways of the lady Thatcher, she nailed it, is the least one can say. When you watch her on the screen, one doesn't see the Streep, but the Lady Thatcher. How remarkably she became one with the character is a class for the aspiring actors.

She makes one believe that emotions that the Lady must have gone through after she lost the election and old age gripped her.

Especially when she visits a doctor and tells him about father father always said :Watch your thoughts for they become words. Watch your words for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become... habits. Watch your habits, for they become your character. And watch your character, for it becomes your destiny! What we think we become. ushers an instant connect with the audience.

Streep and only Streep could have pulled of the screen character of the iron lady. She becomes iron lady and she makes one believe the sorrow that the actual person must have been going through.

Highly recommended for the people who like to watch docudrama and even if you aren't a Streep fan, please do yourself a favour..watch this movie for the sheer magic that Streep brings to screen in a towering performance of a towering public figure.
