Performance:

Personality:

He is all of 7’ 7” and weighs 200 kgs. He stands tall like the Himalayas. He is tallest giant in the wrestling worlds history. He is harder than rock and colder then frost. He is WWE’s latest blue eyed boy, he is their newest star. He is known as ‘The Great Kahli’. He is known as the Giant Singh. He is an INDIAN.

The Himalayan Giant:

Dalip Singh Ranawas born in the village of Dhirana in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. He is the third of eight children in the Rana Family. At a young age, he earned a daily wage as a roadside stone breaker to help provide for his family who are all of average Indian built.

Till 1993 Dilip was still working as a daily wage labourer, but often participated in many local sports and excelled in all. He had a special liking for bodybuilding and built up his body to rock hard perfection. The then Director General of Punjab Police M.S. Bhullar, noticed him and took Dilip in the police force. This change helped Dilip further pursue his bodybuilding which awarded him with the Mr. India title in 1997-98.

His success and hard work lead him to the field of professional wrestling and Dilip left for USA to further his career. Under the ring name "Giant Singh", Dalip became a pro wrestler for All Pro Wrestling in the United States making his first appearance in October 2000.

However tragedy was also written for Dilip for in 2001, Brian Ong (Wrestler) volunteered to receive a flapjack from Singh. Singh did this move with two others in the gym, including one of the trainers, so Ong could see how it was done. Ong botched receiving the move, as he grabbed Singh's shirt instead of pushing off his back as the coaches had instructed him. He landed wrong and incurred a severe injury which inadvertently caused his death and cost All Pro Wrestling $ 1.3 million in damages. There after Giant Singh and Giant Silva (7'3") became a team beating the best of them all in the All Pro Wrestling thru the years 2001 to 2004.

In Jan 2006 Dilip was signed by WWE and assigned to their rigourous training in the US of A. In April Dilip made his first appearance in 2006 episode of Smack Down attacking Undertaker leaving him cold. He was then re-christined as The Great Khali and faced Undertaker in 2006 episode of Judgement Day deafeating Undertaker with a final boot to head blow.

With some more slambam left for 2006...one can only hope for this Himalayan Giant to tower above others on WWE charts in the coming months.

Trivia : Maintaining his size requires a strict, and intimidating daily dietary regimen. Dalip consumes five litres of milk, five chickens and two dozen eggs, along with many chapatis, juice, and fruit daily.

More Trivia: In one of the non-title clashes, Khali also defeated reigning world champion Rey Mysterio. One of his WWE fights was titled 'Punjabi Prison'.

Still More Trivia: On 4th Aug. Dilip Singh was suspended from Punjab Police Force only to reinstate him after intervension of DG Of Punjab Police S.S. Virk. According to records, the 'Great Khali' had failed to report for duty after his six-month leave expired in July this year. He had gone to the US in January to sign in with WWE.
