The story telling is about 1971, when east pakistan( Present Bangladesh) was on massacre, as pakistan army had launched a mission to suppress the rebellion mukti vahini who wanted to free east pakistan as free nation called Bangladesh.

East and west pakistan was on either side and to provide ammunitions, food and support of army, they have to go by indian fields and it was not possible, by air it was not sufficient, only way was ocean, as east pakistan was land locked from three sides by India.

Though only side was open is from ocean but they knew it well that till the time INS VIKRANT( a most decorated Indian submarine) is there they can do enough.

So they planned to destroy the INS VIKRANT Vikrant for the same they made a small attack to divert the attention of S-21 submarine which was already deployed on the basis of raw information by Navy command.

But the captain of the S-21 was more aggresive and intelligent to sense it all, and wanted to destroy the Gazi( a pakistani submarine) .

But navy command had put other officer( Rana bugti) on board, it was not possible to attack first despite knowing enemy's presence as Navy command has sent this officer to prevent the captain to attack first.

In between all The Gazi put landline mines and made S-21 to follow them, all happened according to pakistani's plan, but the S-21 was not fully destroyed.

Story is all about how they restarted the submarine for which it was not possible to move, only they can go up and down, but Rana bugti executed his plans well and finally destroyed the Ghazi.

( Rana daggubati was saved by the captain who lost his own life when submarine touched the landmines and a liver inside the submarine went out of control and hit him on head and made him martyr) .

It's a good movie to Watch to feel proud of our Naval capabilities and their Heroes, movie keeps you submerged as submarine was in ocean, also It is the last movie of Om puri so, give him a tribute by watching it.
