Its a BUDGET hotel right in the middle of Suffren street and can be the only reason for the money they extort from you. definately best placed HOTEL in the area with alliance francais right opposite and the promenade off two streets. the only other clean and cheap options nearby are the guest houses.
The street is beautiful and there are good restaraunts next door but give the inhouse cafe a miss unless its for breakfast (though they quote a long menu at unbeliveable prices ofcourse). you can use the basic facilities (microwave etc etc) there though.
The people behind the reception are unhelpful and still living in the british raj where the gora sahib must have the best and we brown people can take the leavings so be prepared if there are any foreigners residing there at the time of your visit/stay.
Ensure that you get the description of the room at the time of booking otherwise you'll get a room with walls thinner than a rice paper.
Rooms are generally small but the upstairs terrace is a face saver. they are hepful with your rented/own vehicles in terms of safety and parking. you can also leave your luggage in thier safe keeping if you intend to see the city sights and dont intend to extend the reservation for another day.
Sheets and towels are provided and recycled the next day unless specifically asked to be changed.But stay there if you intend not to spend too much (and cant get through to the guest houses) because you cant beat the location. its like being transported to another country all together. Room tariff is quoted between 17-1900 rs but you can get a deal online or even haggle with the hotel itself.
