A magical tale by Paulo Coelho of a poor shepard who discovers true love, fame and fortune by following his dream and never giving up on his destiny.
This is a lovely story which inspires the reader to strive towards doing that which they would love to do in life rather than doing that which everyone else would have them do. The book tells us of a boy who loved to travel and therefore he decided to become a shepard because that was the cheapest way to travel and earn a living at the same time.
Then one night he has a dream that he goes to Egypt to see the pyramids and meets a child who is going to tell him the location of a treasure, but just as he is about to tell him the location the shepard wakes up. The shepard then decides to sell his sheep and travel to egypt to find the treasure, on his way everytime some hardship or the other comes in front of him, and each time he is almost ready to give up following his dream, but as long as he doesn't give up, each time he comes out stronger, more learned and richer.
The story has a lot of other inner meanings held within its words, and each time you read it, you get something new out of it.
Its not a very long story, just 170 pages so is perfect for a weekend at home when you would like to relax and do some light and refreshing reading.
