In Chattanooga,Tennessee there is a great place to visit, name the Tennessee Aquarium. This is a must see if you love all types of ecosystems of freshwater.

This place open up on May 1, 1992. It is 12 story high, with over 130,000 square feet. It holds 450,000 gallons of water in the 24 exhibits. This place cost over 45 million dollars to build.

It is known as the largest freshwater aquarium in the world.

There are over 9,000 animals that swim, fly and crawl in these natural habitats and has a 60 ft canyon inside.

I took my daughter to this a few years back and it takes about 2 hours to tour it. You go in and start from the 12th floor and there they have beautiful snakes, frogs, birds, etc exhibits. Then as you go down each floor to different types of exhibits. In the saltwater tanks that some will be over 4 stories high has all types of sea life. You will watch skin divers, swim around the beautiful bright colors of all kinds of fishes, but they will be feeding the sting rays and some of the other larger fishes.

Alot of the fresh water fishes, come from all types of the environments from the Tenneesee River thru the Appalachian high country through the southern parts of Lousianna. Some of the largest catfish in the world here.

I strongly advise you to take all the pictures you wish of the fishes and animals. They provide free wheelchairs for anyone who needs them. Reservations for tickets is highly advised. The tickets to the aquarium is 12.95 for adults and 6.95 for children ages 3 to 12. They are open daily from 10am to 6pm except on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

A great thing about this place is that they have computer classrooms for students, work shops, projects, learning shops about natural and ecosystems.

Chattanooga, has several great tourist sites. Ruby Falls, Rock City, The steam riverboats, among other things that is all very family related.
