Hollywood movies were always my favourite area, and I have been wandering around lots of movies ever since I watched the first one, most probably the action and horror genre, and not to forget the number of vampire movies, I have watched! Glad to know that this topic is not on the best ten, but on the favourites, so that I can dive deeper into it and write on my favourites.....
10) EURO TRIP
My favourite comedy movie, which ended my desire to watch the Scary Movie series again and again. The hero of the movie Scotty, who is dumped by his girl friend Fiona, goes on a trip to Germany to find his penpal Mieke, and he is accompanied by his close friend Cooper, who wants to explore some sexual fantasies in Europe, as he says, and also with their class mates, who happens to be twins. Trust me, this is one of the funniest movies you will see anywhere, and even if it got no famous star cast, its really cool! If you miss this movie, you are missing a chance to laugh in the highest volume!
9) CONSTANTINE
The Keanu Reeves' Matrix was the only reason for which I watched this movie. But it was really a great choice for me, just like the video game with the same name. The newer version of exorcist can be termed a lot different devilish story in my opinion. Keanu Reeves doesnt seem as good as he was in Matrix, but as we know, he is a skillfull actor, and these types of topics really suits him well. He looks even better in the video game, and Rachel Weiz gives him a good company in the double role. The concepts of hell and devil are treated with a difference in this movie, and its the main reason why I love it!
8) SPIDERMAN 2
The coolest of superheroes, Spidey is back in this much awaited sequel. My favourite Marvel character has got a harder job this time, with a freaky doctor with more than one hand to take care of. Spiderman gets more personal this time, and with Kirsten Dunst around, I wonder if a few are concentrating less on our good old Spidey boy. With the next adventure of Spidey a long way away, I just dont mind watching this one again, but I got my CD scratched, so lets adjust with Batman and Superman for sometime! Still no doubt that Spidey is more of a super hero with human touch and also more problems in real life!
7) THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH
Here is a Bond movie, if I say more clearly, my favourite Bond movie! Pierce Brosnan is my favourite Bond star and the best thing is that he is joined by Denise Richards with the Wild Things fame, and of course, one of my favourite Hollywood actresses. I think that the movie is best viewed in DVD, due to those cool action scenes, and we all know what James Bond is capable of! We have already seen a lot in those action packed thrillers. Now I really wants to watch that movie after reading my own review and sue that guy who took my DVD copy!
6) PREDATOR
Predator happens to be one of the earliest movies which I watched on DVD. I won't hesitate to say that this one is his best movie, and it does score better than the Terminator series. The sequels were great too, even if they missed Arnold a lot. This rocking movie is a different kind of alien story as it features a freaky alien hunter who wants to make trophies from human skulls after killing them brutally. These guys are really some inexperienced fighters from outer space who wants to prove themselves, and these trophies can play a major part in it. But he ended up messing with the wrong man, Arnie! Remember his quote - ''If it bleeds, you can kill it".
5) UNDERWORLD EVOLUTION
The sequel to the movie Underworld was nothing less than breath-taking. Kate Beckinsale stars in this action-horror movie, as the fight between vampires and werewolves reach a new level. The movie takes off from where it ended, and it goes of through a series of cool action sequences. This movie just gave me a feeling that no one looks better than Kate Beckinsale in playing vampire roles, as she fits perfectly into the role, and to those vampiric scenes. The only other girl who stand a chance is Kristinna Loken herself, from Blood Rayne, another vampire movie! It seems that vampire girls are getting cooler these days!
4) VAMPIRE JOURNALS
Another vampire movie, with a similiar concept as the Interview with the vampire. The main disadvantage of the movie may be the fact that it got no famous names in the cast, and it is setup in a darker environment. Here are my favourite quotes again - ’’I am god’s most desolate creature... A vampire with a mortal’s heart. I destroyed the one who spawned me and I have sworn to destroy his entire bloodline... the ones who stole me from the warmth of the sun’’. These words are from the hero itself, who is on a mission to find the others of his kind, the other vampires, and finish them for good, sounds somwhat like a vampire slayer! Just as I have said earlier, these guys really got some bad attitude towards blood and the blood bank, just kidding!
3) LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL
I don't remember watching a more beautiful movie, as this one is what I call a real family movie, and it really deserved all the Oscars it recieved. It won the academy awards for the Best Music, Original Dramatic Score and Best Foreign Language Film, and the hero of the movie - Benigni won Best Actor for his role and also nominated for Directing, Film Editing, Best Picture, and Best Original Screenplay. You will see this movie almost all top movies list. Also called La vita è bella in Italian, the movie takes you a long way back to the second world war. The first half is a romantic story, supported by comedy, which later turns into a tragedy, as the hero ends up in a concentration camp along with his family. But the way in which he keeps his son safe and unaware of the situation, is really touching.
2) THE MATRIX
This one started off as a movie which confused me a lot when I first watched it. Now I have watched it over twenty times, and can't stop myself from doing it again. The two sequels of the movie was never impressive and can also be a bit irritating. But the concept of Matrix is very interesting, and there have been two computer games based on this movie, already released. The concept of the whole world being somewhat a virtual reality, is something which will keep anyone thinking. Strong dialogues and intense action makes sure that this movie won't be a loser, and I think that most of the readers already know more about this movie than I do.
1) INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
My favourite movie, and as you will expect its a vampire movie, and this one has got two of the coolest stars of Hollywood, Bradd Pit and Tom Cruise. The movie is more sentimental in character, rather than the usual vampire-horror. Bradd Pit plays Louis who wanted an end to his own life. But a vampire Lestat (Tom Cruise) presents him the eternal life of a vampire. But Louis fails to become a devilish vampire like the others, and the hesitation from his side in drinking blood from humans leads to a number of debates between these two, and also some major turn-arounds. Kirsten Dunst is also a part of this movie, as a kid, and I would say that she makes a cute vampire kid. This movie is a classic which you can't dare to miss!
