Hit List . Review on Ten Best Songs of A.R. Rahman

Making a list of ten best A R Rahman songs is obviously a very difficult task but its is also very interesting . AR Rehman has been largely responsible for bringing in freshness and melody back to Indian film music and it makes me even more proud that he is now taking on world music . So here is a list of the top ten songs

from the genius or rather u cld say its a list of my favourite songs:

Before that a few mentions which didnt make it to my list but could well have easliy made it: Lagaan, Tanha Tanha, Yali re(Rangeela), Ella Ella solla(Kandakondien Kandakondien), Poorale Ponna Thai(karthama), Humma HUmma, Tu hi Re(Bombay), Mettu Poddu(Duet).and now for my list

10)Kannaku Mai Alag(Pudhiay Mugam): or Phoolon Ke Khilne se for the hindi listeners . this is easily one of the melodious songs created by him. First of all amazing lyrics by the one and only sir Vairumuthu. this song is beautifully worded .if u ever want to impress ur girlfriend this is the best u can get .And to add  that u hav Rahman's spell binding music.

9)Nathiye Nathiye(Rhythm): another brilliant song from the same duo .in addition to this we have singer Unni Menon based on Water theme .Rahman manages to compose a song which echoes the meaning of the lyrics superbly at the same time maintaining the theme of the song . this is classic Rahman!

8)Kuchi Kuchi Rakhama(Bombay): one of the most hummabale songs.well sung in both hindi and tamil .its pure fun!

7)Dheeme Dheeme(Zubeida):one of the best albums from him .all songs here are magical and dheeme dheeme is the best of the lot .Kavita krishnamurthy is just perfect for this song!

6)En Kadale(Duet):the best sad love song form Rahman .this one manages to moisten my eyes whenever I hear it .i always wondered wat would it be if balachander n rahman were to work together .with balachander's brilliant tatse

in music he would hav been an ideal person to provide a proper guidance for the artist within Rahman.and yes they cam out an collection of songs which are just unforgettable!

5)Piya Haji Ali(Fiza): never thought Rahman could make devotional songs but with this song  he proves his versatality .whenever I listen to this song I get the feeling that I am sitting right there at Haji Ali!

4)Venileve Venilave(Minsara Kanavu): or chanda re chanda re(sapnay) .a lot has been said about this song .watch the video and know at wat point of situation this song comes in and u will understand why this song is special .its one of the romantic songs ever made!

3)Vaarnaga Nadhi(Sangamam):Shankar mahadevan's ethereal voice .mind blowing music .this is simply a brilliant song .it just takes u too a whole new planet .i have never been tired of this song .if I ever have to ease up my mood this is the song I listen to

2)Kuruku Chirathavle(Mudhalvan): or Chalo Chale Mitwa(nayak).imagine being on top of the highest mountains with the unending beauty of nature in fromt of u .or sitting under a tree besides a lake or a waterfall with ur sweet heart .without a worry .just not knowing how time passes .well this song evokes the same feelings .time just stands still .u feel heavenly .oh I could go on!

and now for my favourite of all time

Satragni Re(Dil Se): if u have seen Dil Se(which by the way is an average film) u would know about the etranged relationship between Manisha and ShahRukh .the more they come closer the farther they fall apart .its a mix of love and pain

for Shah Rukh .and I havnt seen any song show the feelings of charecters more poetically and  passionately as this song does.i just completely understand what the charecter is going through .and it puts me in a completely different mood

which is hard to explain .this is a masterpeice .Sonu Nigam has given one of the best singing performance ever by any singer from past or present .add to that Kavita Krishanmurty's Haunting chorus .brilliantly penned by the great Gulzar . I have no doubt when I say that this is One of the greatest song ever made!
