Hi friends,
Hey there I am back and with a review on best five batsmen. It was a very difficult task to choose among hundreds of players and among them the most capable and from those the most talented and from those the most entertaining. Stop lets slip on to the review.
Here goes the list……………………………
;….
Stephen Fleming [ New Zealand ] :
He is known for his hard hitting opening position. He is the captain of the New Zealand cricket team. He one of the best batsmen in the history of the game. His knocks against Australia and rest of the world are good. He also a good typical type of captain. He made his debut in 1994 against India. He is the most successful captain in the history of the game for New Zealand. He led his boys in to 20 test victories. He is a left handed batsmen and bowls slow left arm. He has played 96 tests and 246 one days for his country. He scored about 14000 runs in his career. His batting average in tests is 39.3 and one days is 32.12. He has scored 8 centuries and 40 half centuries in Tests. In one days 6 hundreds and 41 half one days. His top score in one days is 134 and tests is 274. His catches in tests are 140 and 116 in one days.
Ricky Ponting [ Australia ] :
Ricky ponting is the present captain of the Australian cricket team. He is also a good batsmen and a good hearted man. He made his test debut at the age of 20 vs srilanka. Ponting was elected as the captain of the ODI team in 2002. On 6 January 2006 he became the first man to score a hundred in each innings of his 100th test match. He is a right handed batsmen and a right arm bowler. He has played 100 tests and 238 one day internationals. He has scored about 8500 runs in tests and 8600 runs in ODIS. His batting average in tests is 57.71 and one day internationals is 42.22. He has a good captaincy record in tests when compared to one day internationals. Except to the series recently with England where he lost. He has scored 28 centuries and 30 half centuries in tests. And in one day internationals 18 centuries and 48 half centuries. His top score in tests is 257 and 145 in one day internationals. As he is not an professional bowler his bowling statistics are neglected here.
Shahid Afridi [ Pakistan ] :
His real name is Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi. He has represented Pakistan since 1996 in international cricket. He made his ODI debut against Kenya at Nairobi and his Test debut on against Australia at Karachi. He is one of Pakistan's most useful all rounders, his extremely aggressive batting style has ensured that he has a strike rate higher than most batsman in the world. But for his average is only 25 or even less because of his inconsistency. He made his test and one day debut in the year of 1998. He has scored over 4,500 ODI runs and has taken over 160 ODI wickets. He was brought into the team as a legspinner. But he is more famous for his exploding batting. Nowadays his presence in the team is more for his useful bowling than his batting: his spin bowling includes the off break, leg-break and the fast balls which are equal to the speed of Irfan Pathan! But the only problem with him is his character. He gets angry very quickly and is very aggressive. While he is batting if a bowler comments him he inturn comments him in very harsh words. He is frequently fined by the umpires and is given warnings very often.
Viender Sehwag [ India ] :
This man is truly becoming the second Sachin Tendulkar for the world. He is often compared to Sachin is various aspects. He has scored over 4,000 ODI runs and and 4500 runs in tests. He has a strike rate of 96.98 runs per 100 balls which makes him one of the fastest batsmen in the world. He is first indian to reach the feat of 300 runs in an innings in test cricket. And he has one position in the most aggressive batsmen in the world. He is a right handed batsmen and a right hand spin batsmen. His spin is very good and is known to be a partnership breaker. His knock in multan of 309 gave him a title of Sultan of Multan in pakistan. His performance against Pakistan has been outstanding. He has another title. It is Prince of Najafgarh. It is the name of the locality which he passed out all his childhood. He was often compared to Sachin Tendulkar in his early days due to the similar batting style. He became the captain of indian time firstly in December 2005. Now presently he is the vice captain of the indian cricket team.
Brain Lara [ West Indies ] :
Brain Lara’s nick name is The prince. He is a west Indian and one of the greatest crickters. Lara holds several world records for high scoring. He has the highest individual score which is 400 not out agnaist England in 2004. He also holds the record for the highest total number of runs in a Test career, after overtaking Allan Border in November 2005. His 400 not out also made him the second player after Don Bradman to score two Test triple-centuries. He is a left handed batsmen and left leg break googly bowler. He has played 121 tests and 259 one days. He has scored 12000 runs in tests and 9500 runs in one days. His batting average in tests is 53.86 and in one days is 41.41. His top score in tests is 400 every one knows it and one days is 169. He has not bowled a lot in the both forms of the game. But has got 4 wickets in One days by luck! Now a days he has been out of luck and has been performing very badly. But his contribution to cricket remains unforgettable.
