Well 2006, was not personally a very good or exciting year for me, but
musically it was a brilliant year, some great melodies, some great tunes
and compositions, some great talents coming up to entertain us with
their tunes and
work.the
find of the year was definitely MITHOON, with BAS EK PAL, ANWAR and the
surprise album was OMKARA, simply a masterstroke by VISHAL BHARADWAZ in
terms of music so here i'll write a review on my favourite topic
music, I hope you all like my list,
HERE IT GOES:
MAULA MERE MAULA\JAVEDA ZINDAGI
Hard to choose between these two gems from ANWAR, what melodies and what
beautiful songs, really you don't often get to listen to such beautiful
songs in hindi cinema, MITHOON just surprised me with these two
gems, great orchesta, great lyrics and great singing by ROOP KUMAR
RATHOD made this song the best for me for the year 2006 and
otherwise also.KEEP GOING MITHOON, you deserve a clap.
YE HOSLA
This is my second pick from the film DOR, I love songs which inspire and
this is a perfect song for inspiration, beautifully composed by
SALIM-SULAIMAN and brilliantly sung by SHAFQAT AMANAT ALI, I don't know
who penned the lyrics but nevertheless a great joB done alltogether.
MITWA
I loved this song just because of the way it has been sung by SHAFQAT
AMANAT ALI, this man has some talent and SHANKAR MAHADEVAN, love the
opening lines, very spiritual feel to the song, infectious tune, good
lyrics by JAVED AKHTAR and great singing made it a favourite for me.
NAINA THAG LE GE
OMKARA is a musically brilliant album, each song was a
gem, lyrically and music wise but i'll pick NAINA, because of the sheer
brilliance of poetry by GULZAR, great tune as well and brilliantly sung
by RAHET FATEH ALI KHAN.PLAY IT AGAIN, SPECIAL MENTION TO BHEEDI also
the then national anthem.
ROOBAROO
I loved RDB album, REHMAN was at his creative best and ofcourse the
picturisation of the songs did help to like the songs even more, my
personal favourite from RDB IS ROOBAROO, refreshing tune, good work by
PRASOON JOSHI and great vocals by NARESH IYYER AND RAHMAN.RDB remains
my all time favourite film.
CHAAND SIFARISH.
Well, you have to hand it out to JATIN LALIT FOR this brilliant
composition, for the last time together as the musical duo.Fanna the
film became special because of this beautiful song, what a catchy
tune, nice use of indian musical instruments and flawless singing
by SHAAN AND KAILASH KHER made it a favourite for me.LOVE THIS SONG.
AAJ KI RAAT
SLE did a commendable job for this song from DON.I diD not like
the DON album but this song was simply rocking, I loved the retro style
of music and singing by ALSHA CHINOY, SONU NIGAM and MAHALAXMI IYYER.One
of the best songs of 2006 for its innovativeness.ROCK ON.
KOI TUMSA NAHI
This has to be the most melodious song of the year 2006 just because of
the way it was sung by SHREYA GHOSAL, so much sweetness in her
honey-dipped voice, SONU gave good support.Good composition by RAJESH
ROSHAN for this song from KRISH, made its way into my heart.
TERE BIN
MITHOON ROCKS BIG TIME and this song was a proof of it, if a person can
compose this song on his debut, its hard to imagine what he'll do once
he gains expereince, he is a talent to look forward too, ATIF ASLAM made
this song a gem with his heart=wrenching vocals.
BHEEGI BHEEGI SI\JANE KYA CHAHE MAN BAWRA
I loved both these compositions from PRITAM, from the film GANGSTER and
PKSE respectively.Very nice job done by the composer, great lyrics and
brilliant singing by JAMES and ZUBIN made these songs gems.
So this completes my list of the songs of the year 2006, I hope you'll
like reading about them.Its good to write on mouthshut after a long
time, the year 2006 was particularly bad for me but it did not stop me
from writing on MS AGAIN.
