Its that time of the year to reflect on the year just gone by'n scramble up our memory to pick up those songs which made it to the top .My countdown for the last year follows with:
10)Butterfly by a huge 7 member gang Crazy town: This soft poppish-punk-rap is all abt that elusive search for the special one in one’s life, in true ’’Crazy town’’ style, ’n was a rage in mid last year .Hope they dont turn out to be a one song wonder band.Wasnt that video kooo.lll?
9)Purple hills: I know many r sulking hearing the name of this controversial rapper Eminem. But please dont read so much meaning into his lyrics, just chill out.Indeed I liked this song with Dr Dre, with a trippy rhythmic progressive feel and its always funto watch his videos, no matter what!
8)Whatever, whenever by Shakira: This song doesnt have that typical latino feel to it! But this Columbian lady is presently hot on the countdowns with this number(from the album'Laundry service'), 'n is an absolute trailblazer!
7)7 days by Craig David: This is a silky smooth R'n B crooner with a gentle rocking vibe .This song is out there for remixing .The one'n only song of C.David that I've liiked so far .
6)Family affair by Mary J Blige: This is a soulful hip-hop number, 'n may probably the biggest hit of BLige . This album produced by Dr.Dre'n Missy Elliot(remember that'get ur freak on me') has that telltale bouncy beats, bass'n deep blue rythmic vocals .
5)Shaggy:HA, this guy has a distinctive style of his own'n no matter who is listening will automatically start moving! I'm saying this bcoz, my roomamte who just hates whatever I listen(its a rule) for the first time did relate to this song. Songs like'It wasnt me''n'Angel', is.hey, lemme cut here, do I need to explain it.Cmon, hands up in the air.
4)Let me blow ya mind: Gwen Stefani did blow my mind with this number.Whatta comeback in style! This female rebel song has a perfect tingling hip-hop background score, to put anyone in the groove'n well complimented by a wicked video.
3) Love in traffic by Satoshi Tomeii’s: I'm such a big sucker for trance( but I've avoided them in this list)! This track was an absolute zombic sonic intoxcation, 'n virtually an anthem of all the discs in B'lore, last year.Phew!
2)Nelly Furtardo: Another artist last year who needs no intro! No surprises as to which numbers I've in mind.'I'm like a bird''n'Turn off the light' tops!
1) And the top spot in my countdown goes to USHER. His album'8701' is an absolute smasher, esp'lly numbers like'U remind me', 'I dont know', 'U got it bad', 'I Can’t Let u go' . Btw he is gr8 mover with absolutely silky smooth dance steps! This album is diverse with peppy, soulful, dance R'n B music, check it out!
I dont know how I missed these tracks out, I'm kicking myself for that, but I think these again share the top honors, 'My sacrifice' by Creed and'In the end'(and also Crawling)by Linkin Park. This'In The end' song by Linkin Park is an absolute roller coaster'n the pace of the song just keeps varying so much, I just luv this one.
But there r some who just missed the boat like'Always on time by Ja rule:', 'Liquid Dreams by O-Town', 'Don't Tell Me, by my all time fav artist Madonna', 'Beautiful Day-U2', Pink etc .Hey, MS'ers how come no revu out on this topic?
