I am an ardent fan of music. I think Music is God. I never call a kind of music good or bad. It just has to satisfy my mood at that moment.
I listen to all kinds of music. Be it be soft, plain romantic songs or high end, heavy metal. I am not at all particular about my choice of music.
Nowadays, you don't only listen to music, but you can also view them through their videos shown on various music channels like MTV or V. A music video can make or break the reputation of a song or an artist. So, to frame a music video well is the utmost responsibility of a music director. To make a music video is a tedious job, but the end product should be satisfying. Not only the production is important, but also the post production equally holds weight. The Special Effects can add color.
I have seen many music videos, but liked few. Let me list them for you:
10) Frozen Madonna
Madonna has always been my favourite singer. This song, Frozen, is a very good song and it required an equally good video for it. It is kind of an enchanting song with some Indian influence in it. So, a music video was created, which showed Madonna as an enchanting figure who can convert herself into a black bloodhound or into a burst of ravens. This music video included some real good special effects. Madonna had the mehendi work done on her hands, showing her incline towards Indian culture. She wears a black outfit and the video itself is completely in black & white. It is a very well-made music video.
9) Star Guitar Chemical Brothers
When I first watched this video, I saw nothing but a train moving and the scenery rolling in the background. But when I concentrated more on the video, I found out that it has more than just rolling images. What I found was that the video includes a very tedious, but innovative and imaginative job. It begins with a train moving and the exterior is shown from the window. You see several stuff coming in and going out. But when you watch it closely, you will see that the scenery is responding to the music! If there is a bass beat then a stuff will come, and so on. The scenery moves like the LED display of your equaliser on your music system. It is a real nice video. Catch it on your favourite music channel.
8) Elevation U2
U2 is my most admired band. The first video I saw of theirs was of Zooropa, where one of their band members is sitting on a chair and different people come in and lick him, hit him, and do some other stuff. But this video is filled with ecstasy and excitement. It is an original soundtrack for the movie, Tomb Raider. Everything is going havoc in the video. There are cars, animals and people flying in the air, and everything going haywire. It is just a fun-filled video.
7) Deeper Underground Jamiroquai
Jamiroquai has a very unique voice. I loved his song Virtual Insanity, and also liked the video. But'Deeper Underground' music video is still good. He sang this one as an Original Soundtrack for the movie'Godzilla'. The music is filled with action. It depicts car crashes, building wrecks, helicopters fights, and of course, Godzilla. The video starts inside a movie theatre, and people are watching the movie. Suddenly everything comes out of the screen and engulfes the audience. It is really an action-packed video.
6) How It Feels Like For A Girl Madonna
Don't be surprised if you see one more Madonna music video in this list. This video depicts the hatred of Madonna against the male gender. She goes on a rampage against the males. She steals their car, crushes them underneath the hood and burns their establishments. It is a very nicely paced video. The best part is an old lady who is sitting besides Madonna in the car. Her expressions were really hilarious. Madonna herself gives a very good performance. She is strong as ever. A nice video to watch.
5) Remember The Time Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson made some real good music videos for his songs. This song sounds good, and looks good as well. The video takes us back to the Egyptian Empire. The intro of the song is the best part. Michael Jackson comes to take away the queen with himself by reminding her about their previous love moments. The video also has Eddie Murphy as the King Of Egypt. The video is very subtle and soft like any other MJ video. The Egyptian setting looks good for any situations. It is the most picturisque and a ready-to-use set for music video makers. It is a very enchanting theme and site for any film maker. Overall, a superb work.
4) Californatication Red Hot Chili Peppers
The video takes the four people of the band inside a game where they have to escape several hindrances and unite as one to be the winners. The video has some good 3-D animations, and it really feels like a computer game is going on. It reaaly suits the song. Each of the person is set in different levels of the game like being under sea, or being in an area struck by a powerful earthquake. You can even see the points getting accumulated on the screen! It is an awesome video!
3) Return To Innocence Enigma
Enigma has given us some really enchanting, melodious and meditative songs. The haunting feel in their songs and videos is worth a praise. This video starts with an old man sitting underneath a tree, and then the video rolls back in reverse and takes us through every phase of his life. The video is moving backwards and shows the man returning back to his marriage, then to his youth, then to his childhood, and then to his birth. It shows the life cycle of humans in the reverse order. In the end, the old man rests in peace. It is really a marvellous video.
2) Hey Boy Hey Girl Chemical Brothers
Chemical Brothers have some real good music videos to their name, and this is an another good work of imaginative thinking. It is about a girl who can see right through people's flesh, and see their skeletones. The music videos say that all the humans, good or ugly, are the same within the skin; a mere set of bones. The music videos contains good humour as you see human beings in the set of bones doing different things. The best one is the dance floor scene where people are dancing in their bony attire. It is a crazy, but a very good video.
1) Right here, right now Fatboy Slim
Fatboy Slim is a DJ who has given us some real groovy tracks. This track is very trance-like in nature. It required a very good video to suit the song's quality. And yes, the video was just too good. It depicts the evolution of man from a small unicellular creature to the present form. It starts from millions of years of ago, and comes back into the present. This video can be a good lesson for the students who are interested in learning Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution. This is my number one video! A truly awesome flick!
