I would like to give you my views of the best Action Movies that I have personally watched, and really liked. Please excuse me for missing out any other movies which I may not have seen or missed out inadvertently. Will respect the comments of others. My earnest request to readers will be to watch the movies listed by me as they were all excellent.
1) Terminator 2 - Judgment Day - This is undoubtedly the best Action movie which I have seen. The story, plot, the motorcycle and truck chase scene, the looks of Arnold - my God, it is the ultimate in action movies.
2) Die Hard - What I liked about this movie is the characters chosen to play the bad guys.each one has got really tough looks and they look the character.
3) Enter the Dragon - Bruce Lee - The movie which started all kids to like Karate and Martial Arts. Very decent story line, and great fights and scenes.
4) Rocky -3 - A very good movie about boxing.
5) Hero - If you are into a martial arts story with a plot within a plot and story line - this one is too much. A very close one to this is "House of Flying Daggers" and has breathtaking scenes.
6) Untouchables - A great movie about the police who are against some mafia people during the early days in US.
7) Ben Hur - A very very old movie and very long - but then the story and the scenes will leave a great memory for all times.
8) The drunken master - A great movie of Jackie Chan.
9) Omar Mukhtar - A very old movie - but a really nice one and different from other movies in many respects.
10) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - A great adventure movie with lots of action and twists and turns.
11) The Godfather - A nice mafia movie - but a bit long.
12) The Magnificent Seven - A hollywood remake of the very famous "The Seven Samurai", it is a very good movie and worth watching.
13) The Matrix - This is a slightly newer one - Very good for the type of action stunts that it has - quite different from others.
14) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - Very great kung-fu Martial Arts - from an arts perspective - nice movie.
15) The Gladiator - Awesome movie. Those who have read the books of the history of Europe and some of the fables there will definitely like it - the movie opens up your imagination.
