Ten Best English Movies : My favourites :

Some are really old, so dont remember the technical details in some but they made some impact in a manner which has turned many a things around including the perspective and judgements that I have made over the years. SOme where about dreams, some about fighting machines , some talks tales of Fighters some just say 'll be lovers but all in all they have one way or the other Personified DREAMS , GUTS & GLORY : Here they Are :

10) Its a Wonderful Life : ( 1946 ) : By Frank Capra : A beautiful Movie about a man in a post - war time who is guided by his Angel who shows him how life would have been without HIM and brings him back to the Beauty that is LIVING.

It was a super movie and the storyline has been tried and imitated a zillion times since then but none I would say have been even close enough. This was the Best .

9) Gone with the wind : ( 1939 ) : This is by far the greatest Love saga ever in the history of CINEMA as far as being a film with real characters and actors goes as I have another one that tops this title further down.

The movie which has a melody and color like no other and This is Brilliant and My guess would be that all those who have read the novel would go all ga - ga over it. Its simply superb.

8) Rebel Without a cause : (1955 ) : Starring one of my favs : James Dean :

Well the name says it all.

The story of a young guy fighting up with society in the as any teenage would find it : unsettled and misfit and in this he finds friends , his companions and how the cause and effect really matter and the movie has JUSTIFIED every word of the title in the character : Rebel without a Cause . An Old - classic Bish - bash.

7) Silence Of the lambs : (1991 ): Jodie Foster and Hopkins. The story of a Trainee who is sent to talk to Dr.Lectre, Hannibal and get to know the whereabouts of Buffalo Bill. But Dr.Lectre, plays the game of quid pro quo and is amazed by CLarice ( Foster, Jodie) alertness and openess and in this whole sessions of theirs Lectre finds a way and Gets out '' THERE '' and does what he does best. After you see the movie check out its screenplay , its amazingly written.

6) Rocky : Sylvester Stallonne at his Best : The story of Mr. Philadelphia Himself. The Italian stallion Rocky Balbao. The story of Dreams and passion. The story of a man who falls down but his heart keeps giving him the strength all odds and ridicules and how he becomes everyones favourite by virtue of his Skills, his faith , his love Adrian and his trainer Mickey. The true story for the line : '' its a world filled with oppurtunitites, go Grab them and live your dream''.

5) Lord of the rings 3 : Return of the king : Peter jackson : I saw the whole movie for One character only : Ghollum. The way technology via animation, motion capture has been used to give life to a model created in a software is mesmerising more than the vastness of the story and the brilliance of every character involved. Special effects to the core and sound track simply superb. So many characters that you need to get it all in in one single ago...... or its just hard to believe that this could actually be done.

4) Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machines : Arnold : Said he 'll be back and by god he was back witha bang . The man made the audiences bite their nails when he returned after so many years at an age when people act like fathers and grandfathers , he made the biggest Action hero statement with the glasses and Leather jacket. Action to the levels of insanity and sounds that actually shook the seats in theatres. Arnie was BACK and it was good.

3) two movies here :

a) Beauty and the Beast : The greatest love story of all times. I am not going to say anything more about this , just that : If you missed it go, get the DVD and watch it...its worth every single cent and if you have seen it.... by god watch it again.

b) Shrek 2 : Dreamworks Pictures : A movie that is truly bringing ever fairy tale character to life in a style that gave animation a boom and storytelling via CINEMA a totally new technique. Its hilarious and ground breaking. Its super - duper awesome.

2) Two here too :

a)Fantasia 2000 : Walt Disney Pictures : The ultimate combination and blend between animation by the real masters ( it's like a textbook for me ) and Music so extravagant that it personifies the term Larger than life beautifully. Its a set of many stories told one by one in the most traditional form of artwork and animation . A place where Mickey Mouse made a real big time talking appearance - The socerrers Apprentice. One of my favourites in this is the pines of rome and the breathtaking one - Rhapsody in blue. Dont miss this one. Its Storytelling at its best.

b) Star wars EP 3 - revenge of the Sith : Its from George Lucas's Desk - ILM has worked on it and its Star wars. Thats more than enough to describe it as the brilliance cannot be captured in a canvas by me.... thats ILM for now.

1) GLADIATOR : Ridley Scott at his best : and Russel Crowe brilliant.

The movie that made the biggest impact of all time. A movie about Maximus Meridas, an ex - general of the army of the legions of Rome who is unjustly held for murder of his beloved Emperor who was murdered by his own son and in this fight he goes out and beyond and escapes and comes back to the same place to take revenge for his wife and sons death in a manner which has to be seen and heard.

A movie larger than life. A movie about a simple dream.... of a man who has toiled hard ... to meet his family... shattered by jealousy and guilt for which he fights and wins them all in a style unique , captivating and breathtaking.

The beauty and vastness that is rome and my heaven on earth - the Collossuem and the great fight picturised , composited and shot brilliantly.

The lines and the story have been delivered brilliantly by every actor in the movie and will forever be my NUMERO UNO.

Are you not entertained??? Let me know !
