Recent move by gov to make set top box compulsory followed by tata sky move to change there existing HD gold package to HD access fee clearly shows that there is some nexus between gov and ( tata+ airtel + videocon etc). going forth we will definitely see dth service getting costly day by day because of monopoly.
Thanks to loose policy of our government , tata is looting people of india by changing channels of package anytime they want to. Tata sky is one big cheater who will remind you well in advance when to pay , but once you pay there definition of customer satisfaction changes.
My humble request to first to all new HD users ..dont go for tata sky ....they will "tata" you and disappear in "SKY" after taking money.
If you happen to read this review before choosing which DTH operator, then please take my advice DO NOT OPT for TATA SKY even of given for FREE. Below is the explanation: At the first place they do not offer great number of channels which is a big negative The HD channels offered by them is very very minimal (12) as compared to other DTH operators They treat the customers like a piece of waste which irritates even further.
I recently happened to take the annual pack for most of the Standard definition channels along with the annual HD pack which was offering around 11 HD Channels at the time. After carefully choosing what I want to watch I made a good balance of the HD and the SD channels. For e.g. if I star movies was part of the HD pack I did not bother to include it in my SD pack which is common sense and would save some money for me.
Now after one month they change the HD annual pack to HD access fee.which means that I will be able to watch only those channels in HD for which I have subscribed in SD format as well.
This is the attitude of TATA SKY and they would not care about anything.
In the end I would like to conclude that if you are considering a DTH then opt for that operator which gives you the maximum channels and do really look at the customer service as they are all one and the same which is worse...
