This review on tata sky is based on what I have experienced from its use...... so its my personal experience on tata sky......
Perhaps you might be suprised when I tell you the reason why did we bought tata sky on our home...?
it has a very interesting reason.....
Although we had wired cable connected in our home, there was not one channel which we were searching..
that channel was nepal 1, so, we planned to buy tata sky on December 2008, we had bought its simple plan, on RS 1500 and with a monthly plan of RS 99
yeah, we watch this channel now on tata sky and we are satisfied from its service.....
still today, we have a both cable and also tata sky connected on our home..
so I want to write this review comparing cable connection and tata sky connection, so that it can be useful for a new user who are thinking to buy tata sky....
advantages of tata sky-
1) all know that picture and sound qualityof tata sky is excellent.. no doubt about it.. so even if u are not using a branded tv and if u are using color television manufactured from local shop, you can be assured of best qaulity pictures compared to cable connection.
2) the another advantage of tata sky is that you can see the list of programs that is coming on your channel.. so this gives u the advantage of knowing a name of movies being currently shown when u are watching tata sky...
3) yeah, although I have not subscibed to any other extra packages of tata sky, u can subscribe to pacakges of active sports, active news and others... I think this is a benefit one, but u need to give a monthly cost..
4) if you watch only few channels, then you can also subscribe tata sky low packages of channel where u can get star news, set max and some other few channels... its cheaper for you after u buy its insturment...
there may be many other advantages too.. but let me discuss some dis-advantages of tata sky too..
1) we initially bought tata sky and its channel packages was RS 99, but now its RS 125.. so we cannot say if the price wont hike on coming days....
2) if u are subscribing to full channel list and if normal picture quality is ok for you, tata sky will cost u more, because in our room, we get some 100 channels with aaj tak, zee group, and all other major english channel too, with sports pack on cable for RS 200... so using tata sky may be costlier on this moment..
3) if u are residing in that area where strom and wind gives it much effect, then get it known, u wont get signal sometime when there is huge rain or huge strom... but signals come back in few minutes...
4) and perhaps you might also know, using a set top box increases a few electricity charges too.....
5) if you are fan of sports, you have to subscribe for tata sky sports packages on extra cost...
6) I think we all know that cable services broadcast a recent month movies on free on their service on no extra charge, but tata sky charges a extra money to see a new movie....
if I am missing any advantage and disadvantage, and if that is its main point, really sorry..
