I am writing this review in response to another review in here which quotes a British auto magazine's negative report on Tata Indica/City Rover. https://autoexpress.co.uk/

Please look at the article yourself. The magazine is very partial. They start by making sweeping statements'Tata's are not cutting edge...'. Agreed. That is how any product/ service from an upcoming country is initially viewed in western eyes. That was the initial fate of Nissan when they approached the American markets under a psuedo-American name 'Datsun' in the late seventies.

We cannot come to any conclusions by the partial statements made by western press, given their attitude towards our country. Having lived in New York for about 4 years I can quote several examples where TV channels like Fox news goofed up citing ''terrorists from India attacking vulnerable US targets''. Thats the level of knowledge and pettiness of western media.

So Indian buyers please do not go by western certifications of our cars or any other technology for that matter. I honestly believe Tata Motors is making a sincere effort in building good cars and in the process they may have made mistakes. We should realize there is a learning curve.

I remember when I was studying in India three Japanese auto companies came out with mid-size commercial vehicles. They were 1.Mitsubishi Canter 2. Allwyn Nissan. 3. Toyota For a while everyone thought that those vehicles were exciting and that Tatas missed the bus. But within a couple of years Tatas hit back with new products viz. Tata 207 and Tata 407 series. and wiped out all the three Japanese brands from that market segment. I firmly believe in this company which stood by India through thick and thin. And I further believe they can do similiar things in the car markets. And after I come back to India which is likely in 2005 the next car my family would buy is an Indian car that is from Tata Motors.

Please have faith in our country, our people and our companies.

Jai Hind.
