~Tata Indicom photon Review, Fraud on Services~. Review on Tata Indicom Photon+

Currently 3G technology has already been kicked off through which people are able to access high speed internet but before this there was no such high speed mobile broadband. Tata photon as product of Tata Indicom brought new revolution in Mobile broadband which allowed user to access internet on laptop/pc throughout the country. As I was also using internet from normal mobile, I was in the need of high speed internet broadband to surf and solve for my entrance preparation test. So, with the no second thought, I bought Tata Photon for 5000 with the scheme of 20 GB Internet usage for 12 months, but the story happened went something very different.

Device:-

The Device is said to have the downloading speed of 3.1 Mbps and uploading speed of 1.8 Mbps. But in reality, the connection speed itself is not even of 1 Mbps. When you are connecting through the plugged in software, we can’t see any details like connection speed, data transfer or anything such details, but if we go with manual setup through network connection, then only it’s possible to see all of those connection details. So, as I have uploaded its print screen image, the connection speed is just 921 kbps and the speed hardly goes beyond 100 kbps. The device they have given is a device made in china where the device looks attractive only after it is assembled by outer cover, else, device never looks like so expensive.

Speed:-
Till today, I have not uploaded or downloaded any greater files, so speed is ok to me for normal surfing. Still, it’s not even good as normal cable broadband. I had chosen this one just because it is mobile broadband, so for others who are ok with cable broadband, please don’t opt to this offer. More ever, even on their paper, they give high speed only till some limited usage, so, tata photon is not a better option. Even to watch videos, it takes lot of time for buffering and loading!!!

Connection reliability:-
Yeah, one of the good things I have found with tata photon is that Connection has never been disconnected in the middle nor the connection got with network or any problem. It has been always reliable…

Charges.
If anyone is providing better service, it is ok if they charge comparatively higher price. But things has gone completely different here. I had opted for the plan of 20 GB usage valid for 12 months and they are supposed to deduct the data used. But, in my account, they have credited the RS 20480 and deducting the data usage charge as their own mood. Somewhere deducting Rs 10 for 3 Mb usage while sometime charging RS 17 for 13 mb usage. This is completely out of any logic and don’t know how are they charging. This way, maybe I will even not get 1/3rd of proper use of the worth value. So, Tata photon has been completely third class service provider in terms of charge deduction.

Also, the website to find out daily usage, they can hardly be accessible.

Customer Care:-

Tata photon comes with the tata indicom number, but to call customer care and send sms or recharge, we need other alternate phone as photon device doesn’t give any facility of calling or sending sms to customer care from the same number.

Device usage:-
If device is used for more than half an hour, it gets heated and device may be affected because of this increased temperature. It has a slot for 32 GB Memory card (as said but I’ve not used till now), it might not be the good option for storage device as the good memory card costs the different price and for that price, we can afford to buy a pen drive too!!

Roaming and other facilities:-
Tata photon claim that they have free roaming facilities and may be it can be true, but don’t know how good the speed while roaming is. So, this part, I leave you all for the self- check up.

Conclusion:-
I am regretting of buying tata photo because of its fraud advertisement and fraud data usage charge. As one time investment of 5000 has already been invested, I even cant cancel this subscription. But truly disappointed of their device, speed, charges levied and application of the device they have.

(For those who dont believe on the problem I faced, I have uploaded the photos of print screen which shows the charge they have deducted from my account and more about the connection and other speeds)
If you still dont believe, use it once and let me know the honesty of Tata photon.

My suggestion is not to use this device, better go with any other service provider
