I have been using a LG AD 5235 mobile with a Tata Indicom Truepaid connection since March'05, when the service was launched in my town. I have never found a reason to complain about the service quality. Voice clarity is good, connectivity is good. And you know what, during the floods in Mumbai & adjoining regions, nobody was able to make STD calls using any BSNL landline or mobile or even Reliance mobiles (Reliance network itself was switched off for 4 days). But my Tata Indicom mobile worked like nothing much had happenned.

I had been using Rs.400-500 worth of talktime every month using the standard Rs.330/- recharge vouchers (RVs) with per second billing. But last month when Tata Indicom launched its new Rs.350 RVs with a per minute billing, eventhough my usage has increased, I am using less than Rs.300 worth of talktime. Its because of the new rates: free to other Tata Indicom cells, Re.1 to other mobiles in state & Rs.2 to landlines in the state. Rs.3 as STD. This really makes Tata indicom the best prepaid service provider. No other operator can match these rates. And I am seeing a Tata Indicom revolution coming soon.

Earlier I used to recharge my cell before the validity got over because of my higher usage, but lately the guys at Tata Indicom call me on the last day of validity to remind me to recharge. The new rates have really reduced my mobile expenditure.

Another thing I noticed is that many people have wrong information about CDMA service providers. The GSM operators and their dealers are spreading this wrong info that CDMA is a problematic service with poor call clarity & connectivity.

All I would like to say is that one should experience it first hand instead of listening to such rubbish. I have found the voice clarity to be better on CDMA networks than on GSM networks.
