I was convinced and I bought the membership for their" 3+1 summer scheme" and was told that the trainer will first help you build muscle strength and then eventually make you workout very hard which made me think that the personal trainer was included in their expensive scheme of 13k rupees(not even providing any installment schemes and thus had to pay the entire amount together) just for 4 months.
On the first day, I was greeted well and then taken to the fitness manager who assigned me a "personal trainer". After literally working out on the 3rd day the personal trainer comes to me and asks "now you will continue to work out on your own or need a trainer?" which meant it was all for show. I felt cheated but did not let it get over my head as I had just started to the gym.
Next, I was told to meet the fitness manager again and then he gave me a card with all the exercises for cardio and weights which exercise the leg muscles and upper body muscles. Now they have a different set of trainers who show the non-personal trainer members exercises and how to use the machines. This went on for a month and my experience with them has been quite pathetic. They show you the exercise for some seconds and run off somewhere to either gossip with each other or check and pay attention to the "attractive or hot or important members or simply check their phones."
After some days when you continue the exercise one of the trainers will come to you and laugh at your face and blurt "aap galat karre ho" and show you their correct manner of exercising then run away in like 5 seconds not even batting an eye on the fact that "me galat karri hu". This cycle continues with 2-3 sets of trainers who literally bully you because you don't know their correct way. Every trainer has set their own sets of correct mannerisms and everyone just comes and blurt out "AAP GALAT KARRE HO" which kind of tricks your mind to be embarrassed and seek for more help. Then when I ask for help for the same thing they pointed out a day before. They will simply say "ha barabar karre ho" and run away to do their errands mentioned above. :)
After a month a trainer was very insistent to change my exercise routine on the card. Then I went to the fitness manager and then told him I'd like to change my exercises as it has become monotonous. The weight had not changed a bit in a months time of working out for an hour and a half every 6 days in a week. I thought this is due to the fact that I've been also doing strength exercises like lifting weights, curls, etc. which makes you burn fat but gives you muscle strength that my weight has been stable.
The fitness manager jumped right to the point saying "you have not lost any weight, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND A PERSONAL TRAINER". For demo, a trainer was assigned to me that day to show how much they care if you pay 10k rupees :)
I am now stuck here for 1 more month(non-refundable fee of course) and genuinely regret joining Talwalkars Andheri Juhu Branch. I would give them 0 stars if it would have been possible. If you are smart do not join them. Better go swim, jog or workout or even join some other local gym. I usually don't criticize or write reviews. But I guess they provide such a service that I had to write it somewhere down and help other people know what is actually going on.
