This complaint is regarding my order # 271826
for a smart desk from the website Takk.in.
The order was placed on 30th April 2021, and as mentioned on their website I was told on call that they will ship the product in 25-30 days.
On 3rd July I was told that the table is ready, after which my ordeal started.
I made the big mistake of ordering the table from Takk. It has been almost 3 months now, and for the past 20 days the table has been packed and ready(according to their customer support) and it has still not been shipped.
Numerous follow ups on Facebook, Whatsapp and Phone have resulted into nothing. They just don't care.
Every time I am given some new reason which could be any of the below. sometimes on the same call they give 2-3 status.
Table is ready.
Table is Ready for shipping
Table is waiting for Cargo Pickup
Table is undergoing one more round of Quality check
Due to logistics issue it was not shipped
every time I call them, status gets changed. One day it is packed and awaiting shipping, and the next day it is in quality check.
There is no explanation for a product to be ready and sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped for 2-3 weeks, except that the company is fraud. After detailed discussion with the supervisor at their customer support few points are clear:
They take 100% advance payment for the table, so now you are stuck with them(no cancellation/no refund)
Even if you choose Cash on Delivery while placing the order, they will call you and say that due to some issue they are not accepting CoD and will ask you to make online payment.
They are neither the designers nor the manufacturers of the table, they are resellers who use drop-shipping to sell imported products(from China/Malaysia/Vietnam)
They use the money collected to put into small time equity funds and also to run their business which is Home Interiors. BLD Design Studio is the name under which they do this.
Since the manufacturing and shipping is not in their hands, they can never give a concrete answer to when the table will be ready or when it will reach the customer, even if the customer address is 2 kilometres from their office.
In short, they siphon off the money for their own purpose, while the product is shipped through overseas courier to the customer with their branding.(If you have ever purchased or looked at Aliexpress or Alibaba, you know how this works)
I have raised a consumer complaint as well, and yet they seem least bothered by it. Since their actual business of BLD remains unaffected because of anything.
I would not recommend buying anything from them, and go through a similar ordeal.
Today, I had to contact the police here in Bengaluru who have raised a cyber crime complaint for now. Will see how it works out.
