Even after completing more than 700 episodes, this sitcom hasn't lost its charm since the day it was aired in may , 2008 . Though quite hilarious and a great show to watch from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm on weekdays of our working days , its essentially a comedy serial show based on daily basis problems of '' AAM JANTA '' like you and me and everybody in this country. but the way they portray every individual in such a amusing way that its quite a job not to laugh yet feel light afterwards, everybody needs a happy time of their own... isn't it.
Let me give you guys a hint of what kind of a show it is all about (like you guys dont know...i assume so !)
Gokuldham is a society with huge number of immigrants from around the country and has all the lively ingredients to make this show a deserving one. Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Bihari, Tamilian, Bengali, Parsi and all make this a one specified type of ''mohalla''. though all live in a harmonious situation at all times . Things do go out of hand from time to time just to spice up the plot every now and then which what it is intended to...but of couse !?
Jethalal Gada, a electronic shop owner has been married to an very eccentric and very loveable wife; Daya Gada. Blessed by very mischievous son;Tipendra (Tapu). And an elderly man to add humour is the father of jethatlal; Champaklal Gada. very religious and an ideal man keeps an close eye on every man in the family which almost always is great turn off for the whole family. you know how elder citizens are though he can be easily made to do younger looking roles. accompanied by Daya's brother is a very irritating and cunning ''human being'' ; Sundar !
All though the serial has a huge Families following like Bhide family, Iyer family, Sodhi family and the Hathi family (Amusing ?!). The main family here is the mehta family. A writer by profession,Taarak Mehta played by Shailesh Lodha is happily married (its all in the mind, you know !) to an dietician ;Anjali Tarak Mehta played by Neha Mehta. He is a intelectual being and loves to write humorous columns in the magazines. But the best part is him doing all the character narration in most of the episodes. Just wonderful is the way he narrates all the characters in a typical style of him !
It would be so rude not you give you guys a hint of the families that reside in this imaginary world of comedy. Let me start my short description.
Bhide family :- It is a Maharashtrian family, consisting of Aatmaram Thukaram Bhide, Madhavi Bhide and Sonu Bhide. Aatmaram cares a lot about the society being the secretary of Gokuldham Society.
Iyer Family :- Consisting of Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer and Babita Iyer. Iyer belongs to Tamil Nadu, while Babita belongs to Kolkata.
Sodhi family:-They are a Punjabi-Parsi family. Consisting of Roshan Singh Sodhi, his wife Mrs. Roshan Sodhi and their son Gogi Sodhi.
Hathi family:-They are a family from Uttar Pradesh. Consisting of Dr. Hansraj Hathi, his wife Komal Hathi and their son Goli Hathi.
And a host of ingenious character that is by far one of the most fascinating and spectacular in the indian comedy sitcom of today. No reference to ''nukkad'' at all.
Summing it all the way ''up'' can be quite a hard job, as u can ''observe'' that I haven't been able to mention every character here but just gave you guys a in dept idea of how much I like this program and hope it to continue for a longer period of time. If you are one of the persons from whom love and laughter has gone to a untold vacation; this is the show to watch every day.
This is just what the Doctor ordered !
