I purchased one number of Storm 100i Air Cooler from Gurugram location for my residential use, considering it to be best in quality. I was having the impression that it will provide memorable me a memorable service experience. Within 3 days of its operation the swinging of the cooler stopped. I was very upset. Still I remained patient to watch its performance. After a month or so the fan motor started giving terrible noise. I complained to Symphony in this regard. I was told that some technician will be deputed to solve the problem. The technician came on time and checked the cooler. He found the swing motor faulty. He dismantled the required parts of cooler and fitted the swing motor.
He made slight adjustments to the fan motor and the noise reduced temporarily. Later he left. Within 6 hours of his departure the swing started dis-functioning once again. We once again maintained patience for some time. Abruptly one day the fan motor once again behaved with a creaking noise with that of a truck. We were left with no option to stop the fan. We complained to Symphony India in writing in detail regarding the sequence of happenings .Only automatic mail reply came that somebody will attend the complaint. Nobody at senior level bothered to even give a call to me. After 3rd day the technician visited our place and he checked the cooler. He found the main fan motors faulty.
He removed the fan motor and fixed new fan motor which was already lying with him. Also he made some adjustments with the swing of cooler. We thought that the problem has been resolved for ever. He left our place after doing the needful. He also gave us assurance that the problem will never repeat any time in future. Due to our utter astonishment, the swing again started to dis-function within 6 hours. We again complained to Symphony in writing regarding repetition of the problem but no senior as usual tried to call back. Now the new motor fitted on the cooler is again creating lot of noise while functioning. There is no immediate resolution from the company. I have sent them in writing to either refund my money or change the model, considering this model to be pathetic for the customers.
I am highlighting below the problems in Symphony Air Cooler, model: Storm-100i:
1.Inside of the water tank cannot be cleaned by a user on a daily basis as a result their are chances for the dengue or malaria mosquitoes to germinate from inside. Company has a saying that inside is not required to be cleaned thoroughly by hand. This system should be banned by government of India to prevent diseases due to mosquitoes.
Company advises to drain water only after 10 days and the drain hole is at the bottom where due to same level it is quite impossible to drain in a well furnished room. Company has also kept a target to increase labour and man-hours used by an individual from the company so that company technicians will come to dis-mental the whole cooler first and then clean the tank.
2.All parts are defective at the initial stage only. Final stage problems after several years cannot be even thought off. The maintenance cost after the warranty period will be very much on a higher side.
3.Parts quality is poor below average. New parts failing in the cooler are a proof for the same.
4.Service / Customer Care handling of the company is very much pathetic. Symphony does not respond to its customers. Nobody can expect any feedback by any senior person. Customer's mails have no importance in the mind of the management of Symphony company.
Dear buyers, Please do not purchase any model of coolers or other products manufactured by Symphony now-onwards. You will face the same problems after you purchase the coolers or any products of the company. Please. please. please.remember my advice/suggestion.
